Two Days Training Programme commences at PU
Chandigarh:
Population Research Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh and Ministry of
Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India organized a two day training of trainers on new portal of Health Management Information System (HMIS), here today.
Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University in his welcome address emphasised on transforming Population Research Centre into an advanced and nodal centre for organizing training initiatives for professionals. He also emphasised that innovation would come out of discussions and professional interactions.
Prof. Kiran Preet Kaur, Honorary Director of Population Research Centre in her inaugural address said that this portal is single operating platform for compiling data from the sub centre to DH level. She further added that the Ministry has played a key role in initiating a new portal, Health Management Information System (HMIS) which is a move towards creating a Digital India. The HMIS aims for integrated data from various sources to provide real time information on health indicators across India for policy makers, she informed.
The resource persons from World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health and family welfare provided training to 70 participants of National Health Mission of Punjab and UT, Chandigarh.
