Mayor & Commissioner allocates 52 cycle carts to safaikarmacharis

Chandigarh, August 26:- Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Mayor & Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today allocated 52 cycle carts to the Safaikarmacharis for lifting small heaps of garbage from streets.

The cycle carts were handed over to safaikarmacharis under the concerned four chief sanitary inspectors i.e. 13 to each for street sweeping purposes. The Mayor and Commissioner also issued Identity cards to the newly joined outsourced staff from the compassionate grounds in the motor garage, industrial area Ph-I.

In addition to that brooms, bamboo sticks, panja and scrapers have been distributed amongst the Safaikarmacharis for lifting garbage etc. from the road sides.

During the occasion the Mayor instructed the concerned officials of sanitation wing for issuing required items on priority basis to the safaikarmacharis from time to time. He asked them to arrange regular health checkup camps keeping in view proper health & hygiene of the safaikarmacharis.

Safaikarmacharis from compassionate ground can submit their documents at Mayor office by 10th August

Chandigarh, August 2:- Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Mayor of Chandigarh today said that the dependents of safaikarmacharis (who died during service) can submit their documents at Mayor Office in MCC building till 10th August, 2019. He said that the dependents, who did not applied till date and are not in the list of candidates being engaged, will be recruited on outsourcing basis as per the requirement generated in door to door garbage collection system in villages as well as in urban areas of the city.

The Mayor said that the concerned authorities have started the process of recruitment of safaikarmacharis from the dependents on compassionate grounds.

The Mayor said that in 1st phase total 160 dependents are being engaged in services through outsourcing basis, who have applied earlier for the jobs on compassionate grounds. He said that all the employees will be deployed in the field to help the door to door garbage collection system through MCC vehicles.

He said that these dependents will be recruited through outsourcing basis subject to the condition of fulfilling all the qualification criteria etc. on first come first serve basis. He said that they will be recruited through outsourcing agency as per requirement generated from time to time.
