Chandigarh, September 16:- The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has carried out a anti encroachment drive today in various parts of city to remove unregistered vendors from market areas as well as from road sides.
Following the directions of Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, MCC, the enforcement team of MCC started the drive from sector 19, 17, 15, 34, 12, 35 and 46 and other parts of city and removed unregistered vendors including rehri pharis and food carts, cloth and shoe sellers etc. and challaned 86 violators. The team seized their articles and items, which were sent to the enforcement store.

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the last date of submission of online fresh admission of all Post Graduate & Under Graduate programmes except MCA/BCA/MP/Certificate up to 30th September, 2019 for the July-2019 session. Details of the IGNOU academic programmes for the July, 2019 session can be accessed from the link http://onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in/admission/. The prospective learners can apply for Post Graduate & Under Graduate programmes of the University on the official website, informed The Regional Director of IGNOU Regional centre Chandigarh Dr. A.K.Dimri. Last date of submission of ‘online’ admission form for July session was earlier fixed for August, 31st.
For all those candidates, who have been planning to get admission in any of the IGNOU courses can apply for the same online. Firstly the candidate has to register themselves (if not registered) on the official website i.e onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in. Whereas those who have already registered can simply login with the id- password and fill up the application form for the admission in the July session at Indira Gandhi National Open University for 2019. Also, before filling up the IGNOU admission form, candidates must go through the general instructions, eligibility criteria, fee details, duration, etc . on the official website. Chandigarh, September 16:- TheMunicipal Corporation Chandigarh (MCC) and Chandigarh Smart City Limited (CSCL) will host two citizen engagement sessions back to back on 17th September at the Corporation offices in Sector 17E.
While sharing information about this webinar, Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, MCC said that as part of its new initiatives to invite feedback, inputs, solutions and ideas for developing Chandigarh City, the “Sujhaav Camp” will host officials from sector specific resident and market welfare associations along with executives from Chandigarh Beopar Mandal and Federation for Sector Welfare Association.
He said that immediately post the Sujhaav Camp, MCC will also host the first ever Round Table session for the leaders of industry groups and premier research institutes in the city. Representatives from FICCI, CII, Institute of Town Planners, Chitkara University, Institution of Engineers, Le Corbusier Centre, Chandigarh College of Architecture, PGIMER, CRIKC, SPIC and many others are expected to attend.
The Commissioner said that through this webinar suggestions will be invited from citizens on how to improve the cleanliness of the city, ideas on Plastic Free Movement, better Water Management, Fit India Movement and other solutions for making Chandigarh “Smart”.

Chandigarh, September 15:- The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh in collaboration with Dumping Ground Joint Action Committee, Dadumajra today organized 20-20 Vishvkarma cricket tournament at the landfill site, Dumping ground Dadumajra, here today under ‘beat the plastic’ campaign.
Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh formally inaugurated the match in presence of Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Mayor of Chandigarh and local area residents.
While addressing the locals and players of the both teams, the Commissioner assured that feasibility to develop this ground as play ground for playing cricket will be checked and developed as per the guidelines of landfill to facilitate the local children and players.
The Commissioner said that very shortly the work for legacy mining of the dump lying in the landfill site will be started by first week of October and next ground will be developed to play football matches. He said that Municipal Corporation will also organize sports event in the dumping ground through its Culture & Sports committee and matches between Commissioner’s XI and Mayor’s XI will be played in this ground.
The Commissioner emphasized on the need to beat the plastic and appealed the local residents to join hands with the Municipal Corporation to reduce plastic and get their near & Dears engaged to avoid plastic items and create awareness against the use of Plastic.

Chandigarh, September 15:- The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh launched “Community training of Sanitation workers” programme for the attendants of toilet blocks, provided and maintained by the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh throughout the city.
Following the directions of Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has organized first capacity building workshop to sensitize the sanitation workers (attendants of toilet blocks) of market areas, green belts, slums & colonies and community toilets. Near about 100 sanitation workers (attendants) from different toilet blocks attended the workshop. Engineers of Public Health wing, MCC sensitized the attendants how to handle the public as well as community toilets and keep the inner and outer areas clean.
While sharing idea behind these workshops, Sh. Yadav said that to build capacity in sanitation workers for maintenance, cleanliness and sanitation technologies in the public and community toilets throughout the city, MCC decided to organize these workshops. He said that in order to tackle poor sanitation, we need to ensure that sanitation workers are trained in the knowledge, including the cleaning and maintenance, eco-sanitation and waste management.
The Commissioner further said that the MCC aimed to build capacity develop the skills needed to achieve the ‘Clean City Mission’. He said that this programme will cater to the capacity-building needs of people working at different levels in the sanitation value chain, from middle management of MCC officials to the field level sanitation workers, working in the public as well as community toilets.

Chandigarh, September 15:- The Information, Education & Communication (IEC) team of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today organized Nukkar Natak and play under the “Plastic Free City” campaign in the INS&OUTS 7th Archibuild show 2019 at Parade Ground, Sector 17, Chandigarh.
During the play the team sensitized visitors against the use of plastic items and created awareness about “Jal Skahti Abhiyan”. The team has planned to roll out 100 nukkar nataks in different parts of city including schools, colleges, govt. institutions and public places to create awareness against the use of plastic items.
