*‘Swachhta ki Karyashala’ Organized at Government School, Village Karsan*
As part of the ongoing cleanliness awareness initiatives under the Swachh Bharat Mission, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today organized a workshop titled ‘Swachhta ki Karyashala’ at Government School, Village Karsan.
The session was led by Dr. Himanshu Gupta, Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, who engaged with the students and staff, motivating them to take active responsibility in maintaining cleanliness within the school campus and in their surroundings. He highlighted the important role students play as change-makers, spreading the message of Swachhta to their families and communities.
The workshop featured live demonstrations on home composting and waste segregation by the Municipal Corporation team. These sessions provided practical insights into effective and sustainable household waste management practices. The team emphasized how small lifestyle changes can lead to a cleaner, greener environment.
An awareness video on Swachhta was also screened during the session, underlining the importance of personal hygiene, proper sanitation, and citizen participation in maintaining urban cleanliness.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members, who pledged to adopt and promote cleaner practices in their daily lives.
