*Mayor dedicates renovated Community Centre in EWS Colony, Maloya to local residents*
*Chandigarh, March 14:-* Aiming to enhance the infrastructure and facilities of the community centre, City Mayor Sh. Kuldeep Kumar today inaugurated the renovated Community Centre at EWS Colony, Maloya, here in the presence of Area Councillor Smt. Nirmala Devi, other councilors and local residents.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, the Mayor expressed his gratitude to all those involved in the successful completion of the project. He emphasized the importance of community centers as catalysts for social cohesion and underscored the administration’s ongoing efforts to develop and upgrade infrastructure across Chandigarh. This project highlighted its potential to foster a sense of community pride and unity among the residents of EWS Colony, Maloya.
He also said that the renovated Community Centre now stands as a testament to the commitment of the local authorities and their dedication to providing improved spaces for community engagement and social activities. It is expected to become a vibrant hub where residents can gather, interact, and partake in various cultural, recreational, and educational events.
Municipal Commissioner Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, emphasized the positive impact that revitalized community spaces have on the overall well-being of residents and acknowledged the continued support and involvement of the community in such initiatives.
She said that the renovation project was completed with a total expenditure of Rs. 23.10 Lakhs. The comprehensive renovation included various aspects such as wall tiling, curtains, OBD distempering, acrylic painting, PU painting on PU painting, and the construction of an open kitchen. Additionally, the project encompassed repair and renovation work on the toilets, switch/socket repairs, tube light replacements, and the polishing of lights and Kota flooring. Furthermore, the implementation of new connections facilitated the disposal of waste water.
