Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Regional Centre, Chandigarh
performed activities related to ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ in Regional Centre Chandigarh office under
the leadership of Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh, Sr. Regional Director. Dr. Savita Panwar & Sh.
Sukhvir Singh visited adopted village Pandwala, Mohali today under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan
scheme for celebration of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme at the village. During Har Ghar
Tiranga’ the IGNOU learners have also participated in the rally. In this event Prof. Roshan Lal,
Dr. Nurul Hasan, Sh. Tejpal Singhal, Sh. Gurmeet Gandhi & all staff members were present.
Speaking about the ongoing campaign Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh, Sr. Regional Director,
Regional Centre Chandigarh stated, “The National Flag is a symbol of our sovereignty, unity,
and the sacrifices of our freedom fighters. The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is an opportunity for
every Indian to reaffirm our commitment to the nation and its values.”
Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh, Sr. Regional Director, Regional Centre Chandigarh & his team visited
Govt. Model Sanskriti Sr. Sec. School, Model Town, Karnal and distributed flags among the
students. The students were also sensitized about the importance of Independence& meaning
of Tri colour of our National Flag.
Under the programme, Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh, Sr. Regional Director & Dr. Savita
Panwar, Deputy Director, IGNOU Regional Centre Chandigarh visited the adopted village
Pandwala and spoke to the Village Sarpanch regarding the 79th Independence Day
celebrations and Gram Sabha on 15.08.2025 by officials of IGNOU Regional Centre
Chandigarh. He further briefed him about different activities which may be carried out at the
adopted village under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan scheme. Tiranga flags were distributed among
some children of the village and also informed the children of the importance of our
Independence Day and National Flag Tiranga. Also a Tiranga yatra was taken out with the
children for celebrating the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.
