IGNOU launches MA Sanskrit from July, 2020
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a Master’s Degree Programme in Sanskrit from July, 2020 admission Cycle through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode. The programme has been designed and developed with academic consultation and support of the eminent scholars in the field of Sanskrit across the country. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the launch programme was done in a virtual mode via Google Meet in which many distinguished scholars of Sanskrit language and literature from the various parts of the country were present along with the Directors of School of Studies of IGNOU, teachers and academics from IGNOU HQs and Regional Centres. In this launch programme Prof. Nageshwar Rao, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of IGNOU declared the admission open in the MA Sanskrit programme from July, 2020 Session. There is a great demand for this programme and lots of students are expected to enroll in this programme to take advantage of the flexibility which IGNOU offers to its learners. The launch programme was broadcast live on Facebook page of IGNOU and also live streamed through Gyan Dhara, the University’s Internet based channel.
Dr. Anil Kumar Dimri, Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre Chandigarh informed that students with graduation in any discipline can take admission in MA Sanskrit programme. He further informed that the last date for admission in July, 2020 Session of IGNOU for all the Masters, Bachelors, PG Diploma and Diploma Programmes is 31st July, 2020.
