
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Regional Centre, Chandigarh
successfully conducted its online Induction Meeting for newly enrolled learners for the July
2025 academic session. The virtual event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with over 600
students joining live through Google Meet & Facebook social media by the newly enrolled
learners. The induction meeting was also attended by the part time faculty at its various
learner support centres.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh, Sr. Regional Director of IGNOU
RC Chandigarh emphasized that the induction session was organized to familiarize learners
with IGNOU’s flexible learning system, student support services, online learning platforms,
assignment submission processes, examination guidelines, and the overall structure of Open
and Distance Learning (ODL).
Dr. Savita Panwar, Dy. Director told on this occasion that the use of online platforms
such as eGyanKosh, Swayam, and the IGNOU mobile app be used. Further the information
was also disseminated regarding assignment preparation and submission guidelines,
Examination and evaluation procedures, Academic counselling and regional support
services.
Further Dr. Nurul Hasan, Dy. Director encouraged students to make full use of
IGNOU’s social media and digital resources and assured continuous academic and
administrative support throughout their learning journey.
The interactive session also included a Q&A segment, where students raised queries
regarding study materials, course schedules, and online support systems.
IGNOU extends a warm welcome to all newly admitted students and wishes them a
successful and enriching academic experience.
