The award was conferred by the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, to Sh. This National recognition is a testament to the consistent and dedicated efforts of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, under the visionary leadership of the Administrator, the City Mayor, and the Commissioner, as well as the enthusiastic participation of the citizens in upholding cleanliness, enhancing beautification, and adopting sustainable waste management practices.

The Swachh Survekshan rankings were based on various parameters including overall cleanliness, Garbage-Free City Star Rating, Open Defecation-Free (ODF) status, beautification drives, and Water Plus certification.

Expressing his appreciation, the Administrator congratulated all stakeholders—officers, field staff, and citizens—for their contributions.
