*Chandigarh MC celebrates its foundation day*
*Chandigarh, June 20:-* The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh celebrated its foundation day at Rani Laxmi Bai Mahila Bhawan, sector-38.
City Mayor Smt. Harpreet Kaur Babla was the Chief Guest, while Sh. Amit kumar, IAS, Commissioner, was the Guest of Honour at a cultural programme organised by employees of the Corporation.
Addressing the employees, the Mayor said the role and responsibilities of the MC Chandigarh had increased manifold since its inception in the year 1994. She appreciated the officers and all employees of MC Chandigarh for their remarkable contribution towards rendering service to provide basic amenities to the citizens of city beautiful besides spreading cultural values among masses through these type of cultural programmes.
The employees performed Rang Rangeela Bharat, Awareness of Swachhata act ,Giddha & Bhangra, Jhoomer, shammi and fashion show during the event.
The Commissioner, meanwhile, thanked the Mayor, councilors, officers and MCC employees for organizing the event, which saw employees perform Bhangra, Giddha and skit on ‘Swachhata ke Chaar Rang’. He congratulated all the employees for conducting successful cultural bonanza.
