Sh Sanjeev Sanyal, Principal Economic Advisor, GoI delivered a lecture on the topic “21st Century Economics” at the 55th Panjab University Colloquium organised by PU Colloquium Committee, here today.
In his Lecture, he explained about the ideas of economy can change nation’s way of living. New ideas from different fields like socialist and marketing economists act as filters. Economy may be considered as biological ecosystem which is continuously moving; there is no natural tendency to move to equilibrium. He talked about Noble prize winner Friedrich Hayek speech about pretence of knowledge. He also explained about complicated indian tax system and GST. Economy which is related to other fields like biology, history etc. is going to churn and they has to be optimal equilibrium; it keeps on continuous moving. He emphasized that new ideas should be imbibed and we have to participate in the changes; at the same time we have to take these to next generation and. It is important how do we operate in this environment. He talked about new reforms like judicial forms, higher education etc. in the country need to be introduced.
Prof. (Dr.) Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh in his address, while expressing his gratitude to the speaker for taking out time to enlighten the audience with his vast knowledge on Indian economy and world economy, highlighted about how technology plays important role through medium, target groups and productivity. He also elucidated how the young researchers through their research can help common man and society.
Earlier, Prof. Promila Pathak, Coordinator PU Colloquium Series briefly spoke about the eminent speaker. She introduced him and mentioned his various achievements, informing that he has been member of the Steering Committee of Urban Age at LSE Cities and co-founder and Director of GIST – a think-tank that is a pioneer in the field of environmental accounting. She informed about his various assignments and awards he received for his meritorious contributions
University Faculty, teachers of Local Colleges and neighboring institutes, CRIKC members, research scholars, and students attended the lecture.

Centre for Advanced Study(UGC), Department of Geography, Panjab University, Chandigarh in collaboration with Indian National Cartographic Association (INCA) Chandigarh Chapter organized the first ever Map Quiz for Post Graduate Students of Department of Geography, Panjab University, Chandigarh, here today.
The objective of this Map Quiz was to popularize the awareness and application of topographical maps, satellite imageries, GIS and GPS. Indian National Cartographic Association Hyderabad is sponsoring this event and Survey of India Chandigarh is providing all logistic support.
110 students of Geography, Remote Sensing and Disaster Management participated in this event. While every participant will receive participation certificates, the winners will be awarded by INCA in their International Conference.

University Institute of Applied Management Science(UIAMS), Panjab University, Chandigarh is organising Faculty Development Programme from 15-21 April, 2019 which commenced here today with the inaugural session focussed on various econometric tools widely used for research purposes.
Prof B. S. Ghuman, Vice Chancellor, Punjabi University, Patiala emphasised upon the need to select the appropriate research technique for the interpretation of the results. He specified various steps to be followed by a researcher for good research work.
Prof. Shankarji Jha, Dean University Instruction, Panjab University, Chandigarh stressed upon the necessity of conducting contemporary research work to resolve the practical issues in an ethical manner.
Prof. Karamjeet Singh, Registrar, Panjab University, Chandigarh highlighted the need of identifying and defining the research problem in an appropriate manner. He stressed upon interpreting the results in a correct manner.

जिलाधीश प्रभजोत सिंह ने दंड प्रक्रिया नियमावाली 1973 की धारा144 द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों के अंतर्गत आदेश पारित करके जिला सिरसा में तुरंत प्रभाव से गेहूं फसल की कटाई के बाद बचे अवशेष/भूसे को जलाने पर पूर्णतया प्रतिबंध लगा दिया गया है।
आदेशों में कहा गया है कि जिला सिरसा की सीमा में गेहूं फसल की कटाई के बाद बची हुई अवशेष/भूसे को जलाने से उत्पन्न धुआं आसमान में चारों ओर फैल जाता है जिससे आमजन के स्वास्थ्य पर बुरा असर पड़ता है। आगजनी होने पर सम्पत्ति तथा मानव जीवन को हानि की संभावना से भी इंकार नहीं किया जा सकता। इसके अतिरिक्त फसल की कटाई के बाद बचे अवशेषों को जलाने से जिले में पशुओं के चारे की कमी होने की संभावना रहती है। भूसे/फसल के अवशेष को जलाने से भूमि के मित्र कीट मर जाते हैं जिससे भूमि की उर्वरक शक्ति कम होने से फसल की पैदावार पर भी प्रभाव पड़ता है।
नेशनल ग्रीन ट्रिब्यूनल नई दिल्ली के आदेश क्रमांक ओ.ए. नम्बर 118 ऑफ 2013 दिनांक 10 दिसंबर 2015 के आदेशानुसार फसल के अवशेष जलाने पर प्रतिबंध हेतू निर्देश जारी किए गए हैं जिसके अंतर्गत जुर्माने का भी प्रावधान है। हरियाणा सरकार द्वारा भी नेशनल ग्रीन ट्रिब्यूनल के आदेशों की कड़ाई से पालना हेतू निर्देश दिये गए हैं।
जिलाधीश प्रभजोत सिंह ने किसानों से अपील करते हुए कहा कि गेहूं की पराली व उनके अवशेषों को न जलाएं। इन आदेशों की अवहेलना में यदि कोई व्यक्ति दोषी पाया जाता है तो भारतीय दंड संहिता की धारा 188 सपठित वायु बचाव एवं प्रदूषण नियंत्रक अधिनियम 1981 के तहत दंड का भागी होगा।

उपायुक्त एवं जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी डाॅ0 बलकार सिंह ने बताया कि लोकसभा चुनाव 2019 के छठे चरण में हरियाणा में होने वाले चुनाव के लिये 1़6 अप्रैल से नामांकन दाखिल करने की प्रक्रिया आरंभ हो जायेगी। उन्होंने बताया कि अंबाला (आरंक्षित) लोकसभा क्षेत्र के लिये सभी नामांकन अंबाला स्थित उपायुक्त कार्यालय में दाखिल होंगे। अंबाला के उपायुक्त एवं जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी इस लोकसभा क्षेत्र के रिटर्निंग अधिकारी है।
उन्होंने बताया कि नामांकन पत्र 23 अप्रैल तक दाखिल किये जा सकते है। उन्होंने बताया कि 23 अप्रैल तक प्राप्त होने वाले नामांकन पत्रों की जांच 24 अप्रैल को होगी। उन्होंने कहा कि जो प्रत्याशी नामांकन वापिस लेने के इच्छुक होंगे, वे 26 अप्रैल तक अपना नामांकन वापिस ले सकते है। उन्होंने बताया कि लोकसभा के लिये मतदान 12 मई को होगा और मतगणना 23 मई को होगी।

उन्होंने बताया कि ग्रामीण क्षेत्र में चुनावी कार्यालय खोलने के लिये 7500 रुपये प्रति महीना व शहरी क्षेत्र में 12 हजार रुपये प्रति महीने का किराया निर्धारित किया गया हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि 20 गुणा 20 आकार में फूलो की सजावट में मेरी गोल्ड 120 रुपये किलो, मिक्स फ्लावर 450 रुपये प्रतिकिला, फूलों की माला बड़े आकार में 30 रुपये व छोटे आकार 20 रुपये प्रति माला, मंच पर डाली जाने वाली विशाल फूल माला 2000 रुपये प्रति माला, सामुदायिक केंद्र, वैकट हाॅल तथा खुले स्थान पर जनसभा के लिये स्थान लेने के लिये किराया शहरी विकास प्राधिकरण व नगर निगम द्वारा निर्धारित दरों पर खर्च में शामिल होगा।
इसी प्रकार चुनाव प्रचार में वाहनों के लिये भी दरे निर्धारित की गई है। डिजायर, इटीओस, जीप व इंडिगो बिना तेल 1600 रुपये व तेल के साथ 2200 रुपये प्रति दिन, इनोवा बिना तेल 2500व तेल सहित 3500 रुपये, टैंपू ट्रैवल 17 सीटर बिना तेल 3200 व तेल सहित 4500 रुपये, टेंपू ट्रैवल 12 सीटर बिना तेल 2200 रुपये व तेल सहित 3500 रुपये प्रतिदिन, बस 52 सीटर 4500 रुपये प्रतिदिन, मैक्सी कैब बिना तेल एक हजार रुपये व तेल सहित दो हजार रुपये प्रतिदिन, मिनी बस 32 सीटर 4500 रुपये प्रतिदिन तथा ट्रक 2350 रुपये प्रतिदिन के हिसाब से चुनाव खर्च में शामिल होगा। थ्री विहलर बिना 900 रुपये तेल सहित 1300 रुपये, आॅटो कैरेज बिना तेल 1200 रुपये प्रतिदिन, साईकिल रिक्शा 500 रुपये प्रतिदिन के हिसाब से चुनाव खर्च में शामिल होंगे। इसी प्रकार हाॅटल के सुपर डिलैक्स रूम 4500 रुपये, डिलैक्स रुम 3990 रुपये, सैमी डिलैक्स रूम 2070 रुपये, ग्रांड डिलैक्स रूम 5275 रुपये तथा सूट 6375 रुपये प्रति दिन के हिसाब से लगाया जायेगा।
