On the close of online admissions to Panjab University,  34,369 number of 
candidates have been registered for 5311 seats, informed Prof. Shankarji Jha, Dean of University Instructions, Panjab University, Chandigarh during the meeting of Admission Monitoring Committee, here today. He further added that 18,193 number of applicants have submitted applications complete in all respects, which is 2332 extra through online fees as compared to last year. 

 DUI also informed that last year the total registered candidates were 31454 
and 16199 submitted applications in all respects. 

It was also informed that the candidates who have applied online for 
admissions in various courses for the current academic session under Reserved Categories and their claim for Category/Weightage has been rejected on any account may appear for reconsideration of their claim on 13th July 2019 from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm at Law Auditorium, PU along with the original documents in support of their claim and its self-attested photocopy.  

The others present during the meeting included Prof. R.K. Singla, Dean 
Research, Prof. Baijnath Prasad, Department of Hindi, Prof. Sukhwinder Singh, Director, Computer Centre and Ms. Renuka B. Salwan, Director, Public Relations.

Two Days Training Programme commences at PU

Population Research Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh and Ministry of 
Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India organized a two day training of trainers on new portal of Health Management Information System (HMIS), here today. 
        Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University in his welcome address emphasised on transforming Population Research Centre into an advanced and nodal centre for organizing training initiatives for professionals. He also emphasised that innovation would come out of discussions and professional interactions.

        Prof. Kiran Preet Kaur, Honorary Director of Population Research Centre in her inaugural address said that this portal is single operating platform for compiling data from the sub centre to DH level. She further added that the Ministry has played a key role in initiating a new portal, Health Management Information System (HMIS) which is a move towards creating a Digital India. The HMIS aims for integrated data from various sources to provide real time information on health indicators across India for policy makers, she informed.


        The resource persons from World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health and family welfare provided training to 70 participants of National Health Mission of Punjab and UT, Chandigarh.

जल शक्ति अभियान की सफलता के लिए इच्छा शक्ति जरूरी : विनय सिंह

मंडल आयुक्त विनय सिंह की अध्यक्षता में जल शक्ति अभियान के तहत बैठक का आयोजन 


मानव जीवन के लिए पानी बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण है। गिरते भूजल स्तर में सुधार व इसके बचाव के मद्देनजर केंद्र सरकार द्वारा जल शक्ति अभियान चलाया गया है। अधिकारी केवल ड्यूटी मात्र न समझते हुए दृढ इच्छा शक्ति के साथ लोगों से जुड़ाव करके जल शक्ति अभियान को सफल बनाने की दिशा में कार्य करें। 


यह बात मंडल आयुक्त विनय सिंह ने आज लघुसचिवालय के सभागार कक्ष में जल शक्ति अभियान के तहत आयोजित बैठक में उपस्थित विभागाध्यक्षों को संबोधित करते हुए कही। इस अवसर पर अभियान के तहत किए जाने वाले कार्यों के निरीक्षण बारे केंद्र से आई टीम द्वारा पावर प्रेजेंटेशन के माध्यम से गिरते भूजल स्तर को ऊपर उठाने व पानी बचत को लेकर किए जाने वाले कार्यों बारे विस्तार से समझाया। इस अवसर पर एसडीएम ऐलनाबाद अमित गुलिया, जिला परिषद सीईओ जयवीर यादव, डीडीपीओ कूलभूषण, सभी बीडीपीओ सहित सभी विभागों के विभागाध्यक्ष उपस्थित थे। 

उपायुक्त अशोक कुमार गर्ग ने विभागों को अभियान के तहत दिए टारगेट को समयावधि में पूरा करने के दिशा-निर्देश


मंडलायुक्त ने कहा कि धरती का भूजल स्तर गिर रहा है, जोकि जल संकट का मुख्य कारण बनता जा रहा है। सभी के जीवन के लिए जल एक मूल आवश्यकता है। केंद्र सरकार ने इसकी गंभीरता को समझते हुए जल शक्ति अभियान चलाकर इस दिशा में अच्छा कदम उठाया है। उन्होंने कहा कि इस अभियान को सफल बनाने के लिए अधिकारियों को अपनी इच्छा शक्ति दिखानी होगी। इच्छा शक्ति से किया हुआ कोई भी काम असफल नहीं हो सकता है। इसलिए अधिकारियों को अभियान के तहत जल सरंक्षण की दिशा में किए जाने वाले जो कार्य व टारगेट दिए हैं, उन्हें निर्धारित अवधि में पूरा करें।

उन्होंने कहा कि जल सरंक्षण के लिए सभी विभाग अलग-अलग भूमिका निभाकर इस दिशा में बेहतर कार्य कर सकते हैं। नगर परिषद व नगर पालिका भूजल स्तर सुधार के लिए रेन-वाटर हार्वेस्टिंग सिस्टम लगाएं ताकि अधिक से अधिक पानी को संचित किया जा सके। उन्होंने कहा कि पेड़ जल सरंक्षण के लिए महत्वपूर्ण माध्यम है। इसलिए वन विभाग सभी विभागों को पौधे उपलब्ध करवाएं। इससे वातावरण भी शुद्ध होगा और जल शक्ति अभियान को भी मजबूती मिलेगी। उन्होंने कहा कि हम भाग्यशाली हैं कि बड़े महानगरों की अपेक्षा यहां अधिकतम पेड़ों के बीच स्वच्छ वातावरण में रह रहे हैं, इसलिए शुद्ध वातावरण के महत्व को समझते हुए इस दिशा में गंभीरता के साथ कार्य करें। उन्होंने कहा कि इस अभियान के साथ अधिक से अधिक लोगों को जोड़ें और जो टारगेट आप लोगों को दिया गया है, उसमें सप्ताह तक के कार्य को प्राथमिकता देकर आगे बढ़ें।
उपायुक्त अशोक कुमार गर्ग ने अधिकारियों को संबोधित करते हुए कहा कि जल शक्ति अभियान के लिए विभागों के अधिकारियों को जो जिम्मेदारियां दी गई हैं, उन्हें प्राथमिकता के साथ पूरा करें। उन्होंने कहा कि यह केवल ड्यूटी ही नहीं अपितु एक सामाजिक रूप से पुण्य का कार्य भी है, जोकि आज के समय की सबसे बड़ी जरूरत भी है। केंद्रीय टीम द्वारा जिला स्तर पर जल शक्ति अभियान के तहत करवाए जा रहे कार्यों का आगामी 3 दिन तक निरीक्षण किया जाएगा। उन्होंने कहा कि विभागों को जल शक्ति अभियान को लेकर जो टारगेट दिए गए हैं, उन्हें समयावधि में पूरा करें। बीडीपीओ ग्राम पंचायत स्तर पर सरपंच के साथ बैठक करें, ताकि गांव में जल सरंक्षण को लेकर किए जाने वाले कार्यों के बारे में विस्तृत जानकारी मिल सके। उन्होंने सभी विभागाध्यक्षों से जल शक्ति अभियान को लेकर जल सरंक्षण के लिए किए जाने वाले सुझाव मांगे और 15 सितंबर तक विभाग द्वारा अभियान को लेकर किए जाने वाले कार्यों की रिपोर्ट देने को कहा। उन्होंने मंडलायुक्त को विश्वास दिलाते हुए कहा कि जिस प्रकार से प्रशासन द्वारा जिलावासियों के सहयोग से पहले भी इस प्रकार के अभियानों को सफल बनाया गया है, उसी प्रकार इस अभियान में भी सफलता हासिल करेंगे।

पंजाब व हरियाणा हाईकोर्ट ने एचसीएस (एग्जिक्यूटिव ब्रांच) भर्ती के लिये दी प्रोविजनल अनुमति- एडवोकेट सुरेश कुमार कौशिक

एचपीएससी ने एचसीएस (एग्जिक्यूटिव ब्रांच) भर्ती के लिये विभिन्न विभागों में कार्यरत ग्रुप सी कर्मचारियों से 18 पदों के लिये आवेदन आमंत्रित किये थे, जिसमें कोर्ट, विधानसभा व एचपीएससी को अलग रखा गया था।
एडवाकेट सुरेश कुमार कौशिक ने इस संबंध में जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि सरकार द्वारा इस भर्ती के लिये मांगे गये आवेदनों मे कोर्ट, विधानसभा व स्वयं एचपीएससी के कर्मचारियों को शामिल नहीं किया गया, जिससे कोर्ट कर्मचारी दिलबाग सिंह व अन्य ने मिलकर पंजाब व हरियाणा हाईकोर्ट में याचिका दायर की थी। इस याचिका के तहत आज सरकार द्वारा जवाब दावा फाईल किया गया, जिसके तहत इन कर्मचारियों को अब प्रोविजनल अनुमति दी गई है और 25 जुलाई को इस याचिका को बहस के लिये रखा गया है।


इस भर्ती के आवेदन की अंतिम तिथि  12 जुलाई तक बढ़ाई गई थी। अब याचिका कता्र भी इस भर्ती के लिये आवेदन कर सकते है।

कालका की विधायक एवं महिला कामकाजी होस्टल की चेयरपर्सन लतिका शर्मा ने कहा कि वर्तमान सरकार महिलाओं की सुरक्षा को लेकर बेहद गम्भीर एवं चिंतित है। इसीलिए प्रदेश के हर जिले में महिला थाने खोलने का कार्य किया हैं ताकि महिलांए बेझिझक अपनी समस्या रखकर समाधान करवा सकें। इन थानों में महिला कर्मियों की ही तैनाती करके सरकार ने महिलाओं को पूरा मान सम्मान दिया है। 


श्रीमति लतिका शर्मा कामकाजी महिला होस्टल सैक्टर 10 पत्रकारों से रूबरू हो रही थी। उन्होंने कहा कि कामकाजी महिला होस्टलों में महिलाओं को स्वरोजगार के काबिल बनाने पर बल दिया जा रहा है ताकि महिलाएं स्वावलम्बी बनकर आर्थिक रूप से सशक्त एवं सुदृढ बन सके। पंचकूला, कालका, रामगढ में चल रहे कामकाजी होस्टलों में महिलाओं की इच्छा की अनुरूप प्रशिक्षण कार्य बढाए जाएगें ताकि ज्यादा से ज्यादा महिलाओं को स्वरोजगार के काबिल बनाया जा सके।   


उन्होंने कहा कि महिलाओं के हितार्थ कई योजनाएं क्रियान्वित की जा रही है। इन योजनाओं के तहत महिलाएं को उच्च शिक्षा हेतू ऋण मुहैया करवाया जाता है। इसके अलावा रोजगारपरक योजनाओं में भी ऋण मुहैया करवाया जाता है। सिलाई, कढाई आदि का प्रशिक्षण प्रदान किया जाता है ताकि महिलाओं घर पर रहकर सिलाई कढाई का कार्य कर आजिविका कमा सके।

विश्व जनसंख्या दिवस के अवसर पर विभिन्न कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन

                       विश्व जनसंख्या दिवस के अवसर पर सिविल सर्जन डा. गोबिंद गुप्ता ने आज स्थानीय नागरिक अस्पताल से जनसंख्या स्थिरता सम्बंधित जागरूकता प्रचार वाहनों को हरी झंडी दिखाकर रवाना किया। जनसंख्या स्थिरता पखवाड़ा के अंतर्गत स्वास्थ्य विभाग द्वारा जिला स्तर पर विभिन्न कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया गया।


           डा. गुप्ता ने बताया कि स्वास्थ्य विभाग हरियाणा की ओर से जिला में जनसंख्या स्थिरता पखवाड़ा का आयोजन किया जाएगा। इस पखवाड़े के अंतर्गत नसबंदी व नलबंदी शिविरों का आयोजन नागरिक अस्पताल के अतिरिक्ति उपमंडलीय नागरिक अस्पताल डबवाली व ऐलनाबाद में किया जायेगा। उन्होंने बताया कि पुरुष नसबंदी करवाने वाले लाभार्थी को प्रोत्साहन राशि के रूप में 2 हजार रुपये व महिला नलबंदी करवाने पर 1400/- रुपये प्रदान किये जा रहे हैं।  इसके अतिरिक्त जिला के सभी सरकारी स्वास्थ्य केन्द्रों पर परिवार कल्याण सम्बन्धी सुविधाए जैसे गर्भ निरोधक गोली, कंडोम आदि की सुविधा नि:शुलक उपलब्ध है।


             इस अवसर पर राजकीय एएनएम प्रशिक्षण केंद्र नागरिक अस्पताल में भाषण व पोस्टर मेकिंग प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन भी किया गया, जिसमें राजकीय एएनएम प्रशिक्षण केंद्र, लार्ड शिव स्कूल ऑफ नर्सिंग व राजेंद्रा नर्सिंग इंस्टिट्यूट की छात्राओं ने भाग लिया। पोस्टर मेकिंग प्रतियोगिता में मिस दीक्षा प्रथम, मिस अमनदीप द्वितीय व मिस निशा तृतीय स्थान पर रही। इसी तरह भाषण प्रतियोगिता में मिस बबिता व आरती प्रथम, मिस अमनदीप कौर द्वितीय व मिस रमन तृतीय स्थान पर रही। सभी विजेताओं व प्रतिभागियों को डिप्टी सिविल सर्जन (परिवार कल्याण) डा. बुध राम  द्वारा पुरुस्कृत भी किया गया।


डा. गुप्ता ने सभी पात्र दम्पतियों से आह्वïान किया है कि वे परिवार कल्याण के उचित साधन को अपनाकर परिवार को सिमित करने व जनसंख्या स्थिरता के लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करने में सहयोग करें।


             इस अवसर पर राजकीय एएनएम प्रशिक्षण केंद्र प्राचार्या उर्मिल, हेल्थ सुपरवाइजर देवन्द्र मोंगा, काउंसलर शैनाभ अरोरा, काउंसलर कमल कक्कड़, राजकीय एएनएम प्रशिक्षण केंद्र, लार्ड शिव स्कूल ऑफ नर्सिंग व राजेंद्रा नर्सिंग इंस्टिट्यूट के ट्यूटर व छात्राओं के अतिरिक्त स्वास्थ्य विभाग के अन्य अधिकारी व कर्मचारी भी मौजूद रहे।

Painting Competition

 Department of Life Long Learning and Extension (DLLL&E), Panjab University, Chandigarh in collaboration with Inner Wheel Club, Chandigarh Mid-Town organized the Painting Competition for the Government School students of Class IX & X on the theme of “Population Growth and Environment” at Government Senior Secondary School, Sector 
15-D, Chandigarh to celebrate the World Population Day. While addressing the students Mrs. Renu Gandhi, Programme Coordinator from DLLL&E said that rising population is not only impacting the quality of life of individual and society at large but also on our environment.  The issues such as rise of slums poverty rapidly depleting habitable area, green covers and draughts are the problems attributed to rising population, she added. It is like we have locked ourselves in a room with a time-bomb i.e. ticking and 
just waiting to go off and calls for finding a way to free ourselves from the 
situation.  There is a need to address the youth on the issues of population growth and environment. 


        In the painting competition 40 students took participate and they suggested different measures to control the population.  These are awareness of birth control methods, better education facilities, women empowerment and management of waste etc. Every student has been given a token of appreciation for participation in the competition. However, Rajni, Priya and Meghna get Ist, 2nd and 3rd Prizes respectively.  Seven students have been given consolation prizes on their best painting 
and their presentations.

    At the end of the day Madam Neeru Khattar from Inner Meal Club proposed a vote of thanks to the school and department for organizing an event in the best possible way with minimum recourses. She said that the global population is all said to breach the 8 billion mark and our share is the most. Therefore, there is a need to stop it and put the society on a right track. The pledge was taken by the students to have a Small Family Norms.

In an initiative to boost the research activities at PU, Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice 
Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh  has provided the faculty with the latest available computers for the infrastructure, development of Departments of Humanities, Languages and Social Sciences. It was the need of the hour in order to upgrade the facilities, he added. 


        Prof. Karamjeet Singh, Registrar, Panjab University, Chandigarh informed that PU has procured 260 numbers of Desktop Computers at a total cost of Rs. 1.12 Crores. Also, the purchase of 50 number of Laptops and 310 number of Laser Printers are in the pipeline, he added.
