Chandigarh November:

 One day workshop on “Institutional research collaboration for young India- Preparedness towards space and informatics intelligence” was jointly organized by Centre of Advanced Study in Geology Panjab University, Chandigarh and Punjab Remote Sensing Centre (PRSC) PAU campus, Ludhiana, here today. This workshop was in line with Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Punjab Remote Sensing Centre (PRSC) and Panjab University, Chandigarh on 7th August 2019. In this MoU both institutions joined hands to enhance research and academic collaboration for application of Remote sensing and geospatial technology.


        The workshop held at the Centre of Advanced Study in Geology Panjab University, Chandigarh and scientific group from both the above mentioned institutions came together to hold technical discussions and deliberations following a presentation session.


        In this workshop key speakers from PRSC scientific group were Dr R. K. Setia (Soil, water and Environment)  Mr. S.K. Sahoo (Geology, water resources and disaster management) Mr. S.K. Patel (Geo-informatics and spatial analytics), Mr. Dhruval Bhavsar (Forest and environment), and Dr. Mohit Arora (Geophysics and remote sensing).


        Speakers from Panjab University were Dr. Simrat Kahlon, Dr. Vishwa Bandhu Singh (Geography and geoinformatics) from Department of Geography, Dr. Madhuri Rishi (Environmental Issues) from Department of Environment Studies, Dr. Mahesh Thakur (Landslides, Active Faults and Heat flow) from Department of Geology, who was also organizing secretary of the event and Dr. Naveen Aggarwal and Dr. Sukhvir Singh (UAV and wireless sensors) from University Institute Engineering and Technology.


        All the eminent speakers talked about their research work and future prospective and discussed how the remote sensing and GIS resources can be used efficiently and collaboratively for sustainable development of society and encouraged young students and research scholars in this direction.

मिशन अंत्योदय के तहत बीडीपीओ व ग्राम सचिवों की एक दिवसीय कार्यशाला सम्पन्न

सिरसा, 2 नवम्बर।


                 मिशन अंत्योदय के तहत स्थानीय पंचायत भवन में खंड विकास एवं पंचायत अधिकारियों व ग्राम सचिवों की एक दिवसीय प्रशिक्षण कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया गया। इस कार्यशाला की अध्यक्षता नगराधीश एवं जिला विकास एंव पंचायत अधिकारी कुलभुषण बंसल ने की।


                 नगराधीश कुलभूषण बंसल ने बताया कि एक दिवसीय कार्यशाला में बीडीपीओ व ग्राम सचिवों को मिशन अंत्योदय के अंतर्गत किये जाने वाले सर्वे के बारे में विस्तारपूर्वक जानकारी दी गई। उन्होंने बताया कि सर्वे के तहत प्रत्येक विभाग द्वारा गांवों में दी जा रही सुविधाओं के लिए का डाटा एकत्रित किया जाएगा और ऑनलाईन अपलोड होगा, तत्पश्चात गांवों की ग्रेडिंग की जाएगी। यह सर्वे स्वयं सहायता समुहों की महिलाओं द्वारा किया जाएगा तथा एकत्रित डाटा की वैरिफिकेशन संबंधित खंड विकास एवं पंचायत अधिकारियों व ग्राम सचिवों द्वारा की जाएगी। उन्होंने कहा कि कार्यशाला में मिशन अंत्योदय के तहत किये जाने वाले सर्वे के डाटा का अच्छी प्रकार से सत्यापित करके पोर्टल पर अपलोड करने के निर्देश दिए गए। उन्होंने कहा कि डाटा को अपलोड करने से पहले डाटा की सही जांच की जाए ताकि गलत डाटा अपलोड न हो सके।


                 इस प्रशिक्षण कार्यशाला में हरियाणा राज्य ग्रामीण आजीविका मिशन के जिला कार्यक्रम प्रबंधक दयानंद जांगड़ा, आशीष चावला, ई-पंचायत व खण्ड कार्यक्रम प्रबंधक जगदीप सिंह व अन्य मौजूद रहे।

महिला स्वयं सहायता समूहों ने ग्रामीणों को किया पराली न जलाने के लिए प्रेरित


                 हरियाणा राज्य ग्रामीण आजीविका मिशन के तहत सचालित महिला स्वयं सहायता समूहों की महिलाओं ने गांव रिसालिया खेड़ा व सुखेराखेड़ा में प्रभात फेरी निकाल कर ग्रामीणों को पराली न जलाने का संदेश दिया।


                 यह जानकारी देते हुए हरियाणा राज्य ग्रामीण आजीविका मिशन के जिला कार्यक्रम प्रबंधक दयानंद जांगड़ा ने बताया कि प्रभात फेरी के दौरान महिलाओं ने ग्रामीणों को पराली जलाने से पर्यावरण व मानव जीवन पर पडऩे वाले दुष्प्रभावों के बारे में विस्तार से जानकारी दी। इस दौरान महिलाओं ने ‘समझे हैं समझाएंगे-पराली नहीं जलाएंगेÓ नारे भी लगाए। उन्होंने बताया कि धान की पराली जलाने से पर्यावरण प्रदूषित होता है, सबसे अधिक वायु प्रदूषित होती है। वायु में उपस्थित धुएं से आंखों में जलन एवं सांस लेने में दिक्कत होती है। प्रदूषित कणों के कारण खांसी, अस्थमा जैसी बीमारियों को बढ़ावा मिलता है, प्रदूषित वायु के कारण फेफड़ों में सूजन, संक्रमण, निमोनिया एवं दिल की बिमारियों सहित अन्य कई बीमारियों का खतरा बढ़ जाता है। इसके साथ-साथ किसानों के पराली जलाने से भूमि की उपजाऊ क्षमता लगातार घट रही है। इस कारण भूमि में पोषक तत्वों में कमी आई है और मित्र कीट नष्ट होने से शत्रु कीटों का प्रकोप बढ़ा है, जिससे फसलों में विभिन्न प्रकार की नई बिमारियां उत्पन्न हो रही हैं। इस अवसर पर महिला स्वयं सहायता समूहों की महिलाओं ने शपथ ली कि वे न तो स्वयं पराली जलाएंगे और अन्य लोगों को भी पराली न जलाने के लिए जागरूक करेंगे। इस मौके पर खण्ड कार्यक्रम प्रबंधक जगदीप सिंह भी मौजूद थे।

                 जिला विधिक सेवा प्राधिकरण के तत्वावधान में आगामी 3 से 5 नवम्बर तक जिला के ग्रामीण व शहरी क्षेत्रों में ठोस अपशिष्ट प्रबंधन नियम 2016 के तहत जागरूकता कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया जाएगा।


                 यह जानकारी देते हुए जिला विधिक सेवा प्राधिकरण के सचिव एवं मुख्य न्यायिक दंडाधिकारी अमनोल सिंह नयर ने बताया कि इन जागरूकता कार्यक्रमों में जिला विधिक सेवा प्राधिकरण के पैनल एडवोकेट व पीएलवी ग्रामीणों को नगर पालिका ठोस अपशिष्ट प्रबंधन नियम 2016 विषय पर महत्वपूर्ण जानकारियां देंगे। उन्होंने बताया कि 3 नवम्बर को गांव पंजुआना में एडवोकेट कृष्ण कुमार लांबा व पीएलवी नारायणी देवी, 4 नवम्बर को राजकीय नेशनल महाविद्यालय सिरसा में तथा 4 नवम्बर को सीएमके महाविद्यालय सिरसा में एडवोकेट केआर पिलानियां व पीएलवी ज्योन सिंह द्वारा विद्यार्थियों को ठोस अपशिष्ट प्रबंधन नियम 2016 विषय पर विस्तार पूर्वक जानकारियां दी जाएगी। उन्होंने आमजन से आह्वïान किया है कि वे इन जागरूकता शिविरों में अधिक से अधिक संख्या में पहुंच का लाभ उठाएं।

Vigilance Awareness Week observed at PU

Department of Life Long Learning & Extension, Panjab University, Chandigarh in the wake of continuing Vigilance Awareness Week, organized a lecture here today, Dr. P.S. Kang, Chairperson explained the meaning and connotation of the word “Vigilance”.  He highlighted that to be vigilant means to be alert and aware about the happenings around us.  He exhorted the participants not to let anyone usurp their rights, not to allow any corruption in the personal and public life, and to raise voice against any wrong-doing that come to their notice. 
       

Earlier, the Department conducted “Declamation Contest” on the theme ‘Integrity- A Way of Life’ at Sehjjot Senior Secondary School, Dhanas, UT, Chandigarh.  The Chairperson,  Faculty Members, Prof. Sween and Prof. Prabha Vig  alongwith Teachers, students and some youth from the community participated in the Declamation Contest.

Town Vending Committee meeting held

Chandigarh, November 01: – A meeting of Town Vending Committee was held in the chairmanship of Sh. K. K. Yadav, IAS,  which was attended by Sh. Anil Kumar Garg, Additional Commissioner, Sh. Dilbag Singh Town Planner (Chandigarh Administration), Sh. Vivek Trivedi, Social Development Officer, NULM, MCC,  Smt. Harjit Kaur, DSP (Traffic Police), Sh. V.N. Sharma, Smt. Kamlesh, Sh. Ram Pal, Smt. Geeta, Sh. Sita Ram and all the members of Town Vending Committee, Chandigarh.

During the meeting the members discussed and suggested following important aspects regarding the vending zones:

1.     TVC decided to remove unauthorized vendors from the markets.

2.     As per judgment w.r.t. CWP No. 19675 of 2019, sector 1 to 6 are declared non vending zone, therefore, all registered vendors are shifted to sector 7 Chandigarh.

3.     TVC decided to register all Non ESP vendors to submit their photograph, Photocopy of Adhar Card, Bank Passbook, from 4th November to 30th November, 2019 at Room no. 36,  MCC building, Sector 17, Chandigarh.

4.     The vendors who have been allotted sites are to make their deposit/clear payments until 30th November, 2019 otherwise their registration will be cancelled.

5.     TVC decided to conduct Draw for 2697 remaining sites under 3rd phase.

MCC to organize Kirtan Samagam to commemorate 550th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji

Chandigarh, November 1: – The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh is going to organize Kirtan Samagam to commemorate 550th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji from on 9th and 10th November, 2019 infront of Gurdwara Sector 34 Chandigarh.

This was decided in a meeting of the implementation committee constituted for planning the activities of 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, held here today under the chairmanship of Sh. Hardeep Singh, Senior Deputy Mayor and attended by other members of the committee namely Sh. Mahesh Inder Singh, Maj. Gen. M.S. Kandal, Smt. Ravinder Kaur Gujral, Sh. Jagtar Singh Jagga and other concerned officers of MCC.

The committee members discussed and decided that a light & sound show on the life of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji will be organized.

Indo-Japan SPARC workshop held at Panjab University

Department of Chemistry, Panjab University organized an Indo-Japan SPARC scientific workshop on the theme of Peptide and Nanotechnological Approaches for Novel Theranostics, here today.


The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University and Prof. Raghuram Rao, Director, NIPER was the Guest of honour on the occasion. The participants were exposed to advancements/demonstrations regarding peptide and nanotechnology based approaches for generation of novel theranostics. The speakers
were several renowned Scientists from Japan and India.


The SPARC project would be accomplished under the supervision of Dr. Rohit Kumar Sharma, the Indian PI from Panjab University, Prof. Rahul Jain, Indian Co-PI from NIPER, Mohali along with Prof. Hironobu Hojo, International PI from Osaka University, Japan and Prof. Toshifumi Takao, International Co-PI from Osaka University, Japan. The project includes the visits and long-term stay of top international faculty / researchers in Indian institutions to pursue teaching and research. It also includes visits by Indian students for training and experimentation in premier laboratories. This workshop will be followed by the SPARC International Course on Peptide and Protein Chemistry to be taken by Japanese collaborator in Department of Chemistry from November 4 to 7, 2019.


This workshop is a part of Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC), an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. This SPARC project is a collaborative effort between Panjab University and NIPER, Mohali from India and Osaka University, Japan.
