विभिन्न विकास परियोजनाओं का करेंगे उद्घाटन
उपायुक्त अशोक कुमार गर्ग ने बताया कि लोक निर्माण मंत्री राव नरबीर सिंह 16 व 17 अगस्त को सिरसा के विभिन्न गांवों में आयोजित कार्यक्रमों में शिरकत करेंगे। इस दौरान मंत्री विभिन्न विकासात्मक परियोजनाओं का उद्घाटन भी करेंगे।
उपायुक्त ने बताया कि मंत्री राव नरबीर सिंह 16 अगस्त को गांव ओढा में सायं 6 बजे सामुदायिक केंद्र की आधारशिला रखेंगे। इस दिन मंत्री डबवाली व अबूबशहर में आयोजित जलपान कार्यक्रमों में भी शिरकत करेंगे। उन्होंने बताया कि मंत्री 17 अगस्त को गांव कालूआना में प्रात: 9 बजे कालूआना से सहारनी तक खेत खलियान मार्ग के तहत रोड़ की आधारशिला रखेंगे। मंत्री प्रात: 9.45 बजे गांव आशा खेड़ा में नये अपग्रेड स्कूल का उद्घाटन करेंगे तथा लोगों की समस्याएं सुनेंगे। उन्होंने बताया कि मंत्री प्रात: 10.30 बजे गांव लखुआना में रोड़ की आधारशिला रखेंगे तथा लोगों की समस्याएं सुनेंगे। इसके उपरांत प्रात: 11 बजे गांव झंडवाला जटान में रोड़ की आधारशिला रखेंगे।

कालका, 14 अगस्त-
स्वतंत्रता दिवस के उपलक्ष्य मेें कालका उपमंडल का समारोह सब्जी मंडी कालका में आयोजित किया जायेगा। इस समारोह में एसडीएम वीरेंद्र चैधरी ध्वजारोहण करेंगे और सलामी लेंगे।
यह जानकारी देते हुए तहसीलदार राजेश पुनिया ने बताया कि उपमडल स्तर के कार्यक्रम के सभी प्रबंध पूरे कर लिये गये है और 15 अगस्त को प्रातः 9 बजे ध्वारोहण होगा। उन्होंने बताया कि कालका उपमंडल के विभिन्न विद्यालयों के विद्यार्थियों द्वारा रंगारंग सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम प्रस्तुत किया जायेगा। उन्होंने बताया कि इस मौके पर उल्लेखनीय कार्य करने वाले अधिकारियों, कर्मचारियों व नागरिकों को सम्मानित भी किया जायेगा।

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the last date of submission of online fresh admission of all Masters, Bachelor, Diplomas & Certificates programmes up to 27th August, 2019 for the July-2019 session. Details of the IGNOU academic programmes for the July, 2019 session can be accessed from the link http://onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in/admission/. The prospective learners can apply for Masters/Bachelor/Diploma/Certificate programmes of the University on the official website, informed The Regional Director of IGNOU Regional centre Chandigarh Dr. A.K.Dimri. Last date of submission of ‘online’ admission form for July session was earlier fixed for August, 14.
For all those candidates, who have been planning to get admission in any of the IGNOU courses can apply for the same online. Firstly the candidate has to register themselves (if not registered) on the official website i.e onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in. Whereas those who have already registered can simply login with the id- password and fill up the application form for the admission in the July session at Indira Gandhi National Open University for 2019. Also, before filling up the IGNOU admission form, candidates must go through the general instructions, eligibility criteria, fee details, duration, etc . on the official website. Applicants can also download the complete details of the programmes from the IGNOU website or may contact at Regional Centre office at SCO-208, Sector-14, Panchkula.

Panjab University’s faculty, Dr Vishal Sharma from Institute of Forensic Science & Criminology, has been conferred with India Top Cited Author Award 2019 by IOP Publishing, United Kingdom (UK). IOP Publishing is a subsidiary of Institute of Physics (IOP) based at London (UK). This is society-owned scientific publisher, providing impact, recognition and value for the scientific community. Their aim is to cover the latest and best research in the physical sciences and beyond. The selection process for India Top Cited Author Award 2019 was based on the top 1% of
the most-cited papers from India in the field of Physics; Materials, Biosciences, Astronomy and Astrophysics, Environmental Science, and Mathematical Sciences, published across the whole IOP Publishing portfolio in the past three years (2016 to 2018), using citations recorded in Web of Science. The award is given to him at Panjab University by IOP Publishing representative Ms. Arti Manoja from New Delhi.
Dr. Vishal Sharma says that this is a great achievement for me as I am the only awardees from Panjab University and I dedicate this award to my father who left us last year. He congratulated his students for their contribution in this achievement. He further told that top cited authors from India are being recognised for the significance of their work with an IOP Publishing award. The award is for corresponding authors from India, for work published across the whole IOP Publishing journal portfolio in the past three years (2016-2018).
Prabu Desikan, Regional Director for South Asia at IOP Publishing, said: “India’s influence, contribution and status in the field of international research is growing continuously. We at IOP Publishing believe it is important to recognise the contribution of the outstanding scientists from this country, and we are proud to present these awards to them.”
Dr. Vishal Sharma is having 15 years of teaching experience and his is currently working on the various applications like development of new materials for fingerprint sensing, Analytical Chemistry, Chemometrics in Forensic Science, Ageing of writing inks and bloodstains, Spectroscopic applications in writing paper, Analyses of Questioned Documents, Ion beam interaction for Forensic Applications. Dr. Vishal Sharma is the author of around 65 peer-reviewed scientific papers from International Journals and six book chapters. Recently he is invited as Editorial Board member of two Elsevier Journals namely Forensic Science International: Reports and Forensic Science International: Synergy. He has also edited a book on Radiation Effects in Polymeric Materials from Springer Nature Publisher.

Chandigarh, August 13: – The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh is going to organize one day ‘Teej’ programme on 18thAugust, 2019 at Cactus Garden, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh.
This was decided in a meeting of Arts, Culture & Sports Committee, MCC held here today under the chairpersonship of Smt. Sunita Dhawan and attended by other members of the committee namely Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Sh. Shakti Parkash Devshali, Ms. Shipra Bansal, Mrs. Chanderawati Shukla and concerned officers of MCC. Sh. Arun Sood, former Mayor has also attended the meeting as special invitee.
The committee discussed and decided that during the Teej mela various Punjabi folk singers including local artists with other singers will perform and village profile/Heritage style collections of Punjab and Haryana will be the main attractions of the Festival. Mehandi Stalls, Phulkari and Painting exhibitions and folk dances and songs will be held during the Festival. Antakshari programme will also be organized during the Teej function in which students will also participate.
This time citizens will have look of traditional festival including Dholi, Madari, Biscope, potter wheel and inflatable characters including mickey mouse, chota bheem, motu-patlu and many more attractions. Magic shows and puppet shows will be showcased throughout the day.
Various programmes will be organized during the Teej including mehandi stalls, layout of teean, Rangan di varkha, solo and group folk song, teean de geet, kikli, giddha, rajasthani dance, Haryanvi dance, performances by MCC artists, Dholak, Ghara, charkha geet, choreographic group folk dance.
