Chandigarh, September 2:- A meeting of Fire & Emergency Services, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh was held here today in the conference hall under the Chairmanship of Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma and attended by the other members of the committee namely Sh. Mahesh Inder Singh, Smt. Raj Bala Malik, Smt. Farmila, Maj. Gen M S Kandal, Haji Mohd Khurshid Ali, Sh. Anil Kumar Garg, Additional Commissioner and concerned officers of Municipal Corporation.
During the meeting various issues were discussed and passed the following agenda items:-
1. The committee members approved an agenda regarding online payment gateway for issuance of Fire Safety Certificate.
2. The committee approved an agenda regarding purchase of 30 nos Fire Fighting helmet with centrally torch for Fire and Emergency Services, MC, Chandigarh at an estimated cost of Rs. 13.50 lacs.
INSPIRE(Institution for Secretarial Practices & Development) – a non-profit voluntary professional registered body of working secretarial practitioners, registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, today organized anHEALTH SEMINAR at the Ivy Hospital, Sector 71, Mohali, for its members and their families, with the voluntary support of the management of Ivy Hospital, Mohali.
On this occasion, Sh. D .M. S. Bedi, Chairman, INSPIRE, highlighted the activities of the institution and welcomed Dr. Harinder Singh Bedi and Dr. Gurpreet Singh, who are from Ivy Hospital, Mohali.
Dr. Harinder Singh Bedi (A Renowned Heart Specialist of the region), who is Director & Head, Cardiac Surgery at Ivy Hospital, Mohali interacted with participants on the topic ” How to Keep Your Heart Healthy”. Dr. Bedi gave tips for healthy heart by incorporating stress management, exercise, diet, avoidance of tobacco and regular check-ups, besides stressing on the importance of Yoga.
While interacting, he said “Today India is home to one out of every 10 senior citizens in the world. With life expectancy increasing to 75.5 years, octogenarians constitute about 3 per cent of the population. The older population in India, which was 56.7 million in 1991 and 72 million in 2001, is expected to grow to 137 million by 2021.” He said age is a risk factor for the development of coronary artery disease and the incidence of symptomatic coronary artery disease (CAD) requiring coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in the elderly is bound to increase. Around 40% of all octogenarians have symptomatic cardiovascular disease and a significant number of these may benefit from surgery.
Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Sr. Consultant-Internal Medicine, Ivy Hospital, Mohali interacted with the participants on topic ” Diabetes Management & Stress Management “.

Chandigarh, August 31: – Following the directions of Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, the B& R wing of MCC has issued challan to 104 violators from 9th August to 31st August, 2019 under Construction and Demolition waste provision.
As per the orders, the B&R wing, MCC today challened near about 60 violators throughout the city. Most of challans were issued to the residential violators having Rs. 1000/- penalty and challans were also made of commercial violations having Rs. 5000/- fine which will be recovered through water bill of the violators.
The commissioner appealed to the city residents not to stack their Construction and Demolition Waste outside their residence/Public places. He said that strict action would be taken against the violators.
He further said that MCC has established Construction and Demolition Waste Processing Plant at Industrial area Phase-I, Chandigarh and it is advised to the general public that the processed material i.e. washed sandstone aggregate would be sent to the C&D waste plant for its technical as well as scientific solution.
The public is also advised to approach MCC for lifting of their C&D waste material from their household/Commercial places in Mobile 7277190778.

29 अगस्त को फिट इंडिया मूवमैंट कार्यक्रम के तहत जिला पंचकूला में विभिन्न गतिविधियां आयोजित की जायेंगी। इस दिन प्रातः 8.15 बजे सामुदायिक केंद्र सेक्टर-12ए पंचकूला से मैराथन आरंभ होगी और मैराथन के उपरांत सभी प्रतिभागी सामुदायिक केंद्र के कार्यक्रम में शामिल होंगे। उन्होंने बताया कि 10 से 12 बजे तक प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी सीधे प्रसारण के माध्यम से देशवासियों को इस मूवमैंट का संदेश भी देंगे।
उपायुक्त मुकेश कुमार आहूजा ने बताया कि जिला में फिट इंडिया मूवमैंट के तहत विभिन्न विभागों द्वारा चलाई जाने वाली गतिविधयों के समन्वय के लिये अतिरिक्त उपायुक्त उत्तम सिंह को नोडल अधिकारी बनाया गया है। उन्होंने बताया कि इस दिन जिला स्तर पर शपथ ग्रहण समारोह जिला सचिवालय के बैठक हाल में आयोजित किया जायेगा। इसके अलावा सभी राजकीय और प्राईवेट शिक्षण संस्थानों, आईटीआई, स्कूल व काॅलेज में भी फिट इंडिया मूवमैंट की शपथ ली जायेगी।
उन्होंने बताया कि ग्रामीण क्षेत्र तक इस मूवमैंट में जनता की भागीदारी सुनिश्चित करने के लिये सभी खंड विकास एवं पंचायत अधिकारी कार्यालय तथा पंचायती राज संस्थाओं, सभी राजकीय अस्पातलों, प्राथमिक स्वास्थ्य केंद्रों, सामुदायिक स्वास्थ्य केंद्रों, आयुर्वेंदि डिस्पेंसरियों, नगर निगम द्वारा निर्धारित सार्वजनिक स्थानों पर फिट इंडिया मूवमैंट की शपथ ली जायेगी। इसके अलवा खिलाड़ियों और पुलिस कर्मियों की प्रतिभागिता के साथ फिट इंडिया मैराथन का कार्यक्रम तय करने के निर्देश भी दिये गये है।

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the last date of submission of online fresh admission of all Masters, Bachelor, Diplomas & Certificates programmes up to 31st August, 2019 for the July-2019 session. Details of the IGNOU academic programmes for the July, 2019 session can be accessed from the link http://onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in/admission/. The prospective learners can apply for Masters/Bachelor/Diploma/Certificate programmes of the University on the official website, informed The Regional Director of IGNOU Regional centre Chandigarh Dr. A.K.Dimri. Last date of submission of ‘online’ admission form for July session was earlier fixed for August, 27.
For all those candidates, who have been planning to get admission in any of the IGNOU courses can apply for the same online. Firstly the candidate has to register themselves (if not registered) on the official website i.e onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in. Whereas those who have already registered can simply login with the id- password and fill up the application form for the admission in the July session at Indira Gandhi National Open University for 2019. Also, before filling up the IGNOU admission form, candidates must go through the general instructions, eligibility criteria, fee details, duration, etc . on the official website. Chandigarh, August 27: – The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh is going to organize “Light & Sound Show” on the life of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in the mid of September, 2019.
This was decided in a meeting of the implementation committee constituted for planning the activities of 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, held here today under the chairmanship of Sh. Hardeep Singh, Senior Deputy Mayor and attended by other members of the committee namely Sh. Jagtar Singh, Sh. Mahesh Inder Singh, Maj. Gen. M.S. Kandal, Sh. Tilak Raj, HCS, Additional Commissioner and other concerned officers of MCC.
The committee discussed and decided that as a part of celebration of 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, MCC will organize Kirtan Darbars throughout the city in four zones i.e. Khudda Ali Sher, Manimajra, Sector 46 and Sector 41, Chandigarh. The members also decided that a big programme will be organize at Parade ground, Sector 17 by involving all Gurudwara committees of the city.
The committee members discussed and decided that a light & sound show on the life of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji will be organize in Leisure Valley during mid of September. The committee decided that commutative items like wall frames of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji, Thought of the day table calendars, mementoes will be manufactured for distribution in different events.

कला एवं सांस्कृतिक कार्य विभाग हरियाणा द्वारा श्री माता मनसा देवी श्राईन बोर्ड के सहयोग से मन्दिर परिसर में 15 दिवसीय मूर्तिकला शिविर आयोजित किया जा रहा है। इस शिविर का उदघाटन उपायुक्त एवं श्री माता मनसा देवी श्राईन बोर्ड के मुख्य प्रशासक मुकेश कुमार आहुजा ने विधिवत रूप से पूजा अर्चना करके और नारियल तोड़कर किया। कला एवं सांस्कृतिक कार्य विभाग के महानिदेशक महेश्वर शर्मा और श्राईन बोर्ड के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी एम.एस यादव ने भी पूजा अर्चना की और मूर्तिकारों को सफलता की शुभकामनाएं दी।
उपायुक्त ने इस मौके पर कहा कि मूर्तिकला न केवल एक प्रतिभा है बल्कि इस कला के माध्यम से वर्तमान और प्राचीन संस्कृति को हजारों वर्ष तक भावी पिढियों तक पहुचाया जा सकता है। उन्होंने कहा कि देश व प्रदेश की प्राचीन संस्कृतियों की खोज खुदाई के दौरान मिली उस समय की मूर्तियों से हुई है। उन्होंने मूर्तिकला जैसी विशेष कला को भावी पिढ़ियों तक पहुचाने के लिये कला व सांस्कृतिक कार्य विभाग द्वारा किये जा रहें प्रयासों की सराहना की और कहा कि श्री माता मनसा देवी श्राईन बोर्ड इस कार्य में कलाकारों का हर संभव सहयोग करेगा।
कला एवं सांस्कृतिक कार्य विभाग के महानिदेशक महेश्वर शर्मा ने कहा कि माता मनसा देवी परिसर में मूर्तिकार शिविर आयोजित करने और मंदिर परिसर में मूर्तिया स्थापित करने की प्रेरणा मुख्यमंत्री श्री मनोहर लाल द्वारा दी गई। उन्होंने बताया कि इस 15 दिन के शिविर में राष्ट्रीय और अन्तराष्ट्रीय स्तर के 16 मूर्तिकार अलग-अलग कला पर आधारित मूर्तियों का निर्माण करेंगे।
यह कार्य विभाग के कला अधिकारी एवं अन्राष्ट्रीय स्तर के मूर्तिकार ह्रदय कौशल की देखरेख में किया जा रहा है। प्रत्येक मूर्ति एक बड़े पत्थर से बिना किसी जोड़ के तैयार की जायेगी और यहां पत्थर भी कला एवं सांस्कृतिक कार्य विभाग द्वारा विशेष रूप से राजस्थान से मंगवाया गया है। तैयार की गई मूर्तियां स्थाई तौर पर मंदिर परिसर में ही स्थापित रहेंगी।
इस शिविर के मेंटर व समन्वयक ह्रदय कौशल ने बताया कि इस शिविर में 10 मूर्तिकार दिनेश कुमार, संजीव कुमार, अमित कुमार, कुलदीप कुमार, अनुप, स्वीप, सुनील, रेणूका गुलाटी, तुलसी और शैलेन्द्र हरियाणा राज्य से है। उपायुक्त ने इन सभी कलाकारों को विभाग की ओर से टूल किट भी प्रदान की। इस शिविर ने तेलगांना से डाॅ. स्नेह लता प्रसाद, उदयपुर से राकेश कुमार महाराष्ट्र से पी.जोगदान, चण्डीगढ से विशाल और बडौदा से संगम नामक मूर्तिकार इस शिविर में भाग ले रहें है।
इस मौके पर श्री माता मनसा देवी श्राईन बोर्ड के सचिव व सदस्य तथा कला एवं सांस्कृतिक कार्य विभाग हरियाणा के अधिकारी भी विशेष रूप से उपस्थित रहें।

Indian Society of Periodontology and Indian Prosthodontics Society , a 44 year old and 38 year old organizations respectively, for the first time have joined hands to do a collaborative event ‘PROS-PER’ at Puducherry which concluded on Sunday. Dr Ashish Jain, Professor at PU Dental Institute and Director, Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Panjab University delivered key inaugural talk at the event. He spoke about the current trends and future perspectives on the technologies in Implant Dentistry. Dr Jain spoke on the latest technology available for the maintenance of oral health with special emphasis on ‘Dual Zinc-Arginine technology’ and the role of Zinc in the daily routine of oral hygiene for the general population. He shared with the audience about an indigenously developed technology wherein patient’s own tooth can be converted into Bone-graft and placed in the same patient during placement of immediate implants. The event was attended by over 400 delegates from across the country which was held at picturesque MAHE Dental Institute’s auditorium.

University Institute of Engineering and Technology(UIET), Panjab University(PU) organized a three week Induction Programme for the newly admitted students of first year in which students were sensitized towards exploring their academic interests and activities. Several activities like Yoga, meditation, marathon are being organised for their physical, mental and spiritual growth.
Valedictory function was organized, here today which was graced by Shri Siddhartha Bhattacharya, Honourable Cabinet Minister of Education, Government of Assam. He encouraged the students to live their lives to the fullest, focus on co-curricular activities along with their studies.
Prof Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, PU motivated and shared his valuable thoughts with the students. Shri. Maninder Singh, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Assam was also present on the occasion.
