Chandigarh, September 17:- The IEC team of MCC organised an event under “Plastic Free City” campaign in Shri Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector – 26, Chandigarh today. The team engaged students in various activities like debate, skit and interaction session to aware them against the use of plastics. Also a nukkar natak was held to encourage them to substitute the plastic bags with traditional cloth bags. T-shirts and cloth bags were distributed to the students who actively participated in the event.

Chandigarh, September 17: – The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh is going to start recarpeting of Vigyan Path Sector 5 & 8, and V-4 Road Sector 23-24, Chandigarh. Due to this recarpeting work during the period from 18th September to 30th September 2019, the roads would be remain closed and general public is requested to take alternate route and bear with Municipal Corporation.
Chandigarh, September 17:- Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Mayor of Chandigarh today started tree plantation drive at Kikker park, Sector 50, Chandigarh here today in the presence of Smt. Heera Negi, area councilor and office bearers of various societies i.e. SBI, Verka, LB, CHB, Pink Rose, Progressive, Papsu, BJ, Banker and RWAs of Sector 63.
During the drive, various fruit bearing trees were planted including Mango, Lichi, Promogranite, Gauva, Jamun etc. Sh. V.K. Bali, Chirag Aggarwal, Rajni, Yogita, Avilash, Jagdish Kumar, Virender Saini, Baljinder, S P Joshi, Mr. Chhatwal, Amit Gupta, Veena Nanda, Meena, Yashpal, Arun Bhalla, Mr. Mahajan, Anil Nanhe Ram, Bhupinder Sharma and Umanand Bhadula were present during the tree plantation drive.

जिला बाल कल्याण अधिकारी भगत सिंह ने बताया कि बाल कल्याण परिषद द्वारा 26 अगस्त से 3 सितंबर तक राष्ट्रीय चित्रकला प्रतियोगिता के तहत खंड स्तर पर इस तरह की प्रतियोगितायें करवाई गई थी और इन प्रतियोगिताओं में 72 विद्यालयों के 1200 बच्चों ने भाग लिया। उन्होंने बताया कि खंड और जिला स्तर पर प्रथम, द्वितीय व तृतीय स्थान हासिल करने वाले बच्चों को बाल दिवस के अवसर पर सम्मानित किया जायेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि बच्चों की प्रथम, द्वितीय व तृतीय स्थान पर रही चित्रकलाओं को राष्ट्रीय बाल कल्याण परिषद में भेजा जायेगा और वहां पर राज्य स्तर पर उल्लेखनीय स्थान हासिल करने वाले बच्चों को देश के राष्ट्रपति द्वारा सम्मानित किया जायेगा। खंड स्तर की इन प्रतियोगिताओं के परिणाम संबंधित स्कूलों को भेजे गये है। जिला स्तर पर ग्रीन ग्रुप 5 से 9 वर्ष में सेक्टर 15 की मुस्कान वर्मा ने प्रथम स्थान प्राप्त किया है। सेक्टर 14 लिटिल फ्लावर काॅनवैंट स्कूल की अरना शर्मा ने द्वितीय स्थान व सूरजपुर डीएवी स्कूल की सुप्रिया ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया है। वाईट ग्रुप 10 से 16 वर्ष में अमरावती विद्यालय पिंजौर के रमन ने प्रथम, इसी स्कूल की निष्ठा शर्मा ने द्वितीय व सूरजपुर डीएवी स्कूल की सालोकिया ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया है। स्पेशल ग्रुप येलो ग्रुप 5 से 10 वर्ष में सेक्टर 15 हालमार्क स्कूल के रेयाॅन जायॅसवाल ने प्रथम, लिटिल फ्लावर काॅनवैंट स्कूल सेक्टर 14 से ओजस ने द्वितीय व सेक्टर 11 सीएलडीएवी के वत्सल ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया है। रेड ग्रुप 11 से 18 वर्ष में कालका के भूपिंदर ने प्रथम, सेक्टर 11 सीएलडीएवी के मोहित वर्मा ने द्वितीय व रायपुररानी के रूद्र ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया है। रेड ग्रुप 11 से 18 में सेक्टर 20 माॅडल सांस्कृति स्कूल की सुमन ने प्रथम, सेक्टर 11 सीएलडीएवी के नमन गोयल ने द्वितीय व संस्कृति माॅडल स्कूल सेक्टर 20 के राजू सिंह ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया है।

Chandigarh, September 16:- The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has carried out a anti encroachment drive today in various parts of city to remove unregistered vendors from market areas as well as from road sides.
Following the directions of Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, MCC, the enforcement team of MCC started the drive from sector 19, 17, 15, 34, 12, 35 and 46 and other parts of city and removed unregistered vendors including rehri pharis and food carts, cloth and shoe sellers etc. and challaned 86 violators. The team seized their articles and items, which were sent to the enforcement store.

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the last date of submission of online fresh admission of all Post Graduate & Under Graduate programmes except MCA/BCA/MP/Certificate up to 30th September, 2019 for the July-2019 session. Details of the IGNOU academic programmes for the July, 2019 session can be accessed from the link http://onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in/admission/. The prospective learners can apply for Post Graduate & Under Graduate programmes of the University on the official website, informed The Regional Director of IGNOU Regional centre Chandigarh Dr. A.K.Dimri. Last date of submission of ‘online’ admission form for July session was earlier fixed for August, 31st.
For all those candidates, who have been planning to get admission in any of the IGNOU courses can apply for the same online. Firstly the candidate has to register themselves (if not registered) on the official website i.e onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in. Whereas those who have already registered can simply login with the id- password and fill up the application form for the admission in the July session at Indira Gandhi National Open University for 2019. Also, before filling up the IGNOU admission form, candidates must go through the general instructions, eligibility criteria, fee details, duration, etc . on the official website. Chandigarh, September 16:- TheMunicipal Corporation Chandigarh (MCC) and Chandigarh Smart City Limited (CSCL) will host two citizen engagement sessions back to back on 17th September at the Corporation offices in Sector 17E.
While sharing information about this webinar, Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, MCC said that as part of its new initiatives to invite feedback, inputs, solutions and ideas for developing Chandigarh City, the “Sujhaav Camp” will host officials from sector specific resident and market welfare associations along with executives from Chandigarh Beopar Mandal and Federation for Sector Welfare Association.
He said that immediately post the Sujhaav Camp, MCC will also host the first ever Round Table session for the leaders of industry groups and premier research institutes in the city. Representatives from FICCI, CII, Institute of Town Planners, Chitkara University, Institution of Engineers, Le Corbusier Centre, Chandigarh College of Architecture, PGIMER, CRIKC, SPIC and many others are expected to attend.
The Commissioner said that through this webinar suggestions will be invited from citizens on how to improve the cleanliness of the city, ideas on Plastic Free Movement, better Water Management, Fit India Movement and other solutions for making Chandigarh “Smart”.
