*Chandigarh, November 7:-* The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh Commissioner, Amit Kumar, IAS, conducted a comprehensive review of ongoing development and maintenance works in Sector 15 today. The inspection covered key civic infrastructure including street lighting, sewerage and storm water drainage systems, pruning of trees, maintenance of footpaths, parks, public toilets, and internal roads.
The Commissioner was accompanied by Area Councillor Sh. Saurabh Joshi, Dr. Inderdeep Kaur Medical Officer of Health, senior officers of the MCC, and prominent residents of the area. The team visited the Community Centre, Sector 15 Market, and the adjoining park, where they took stock of the progress and interacted with local residents to understand their concerns and suggestions.
During the visit, the Commissioner directed officials to ensure timely completion of works with a focus on quality and sustainability. He emphasized the importance of regular maintenance, efficient waste management, and citizen participation in keeping the city clean and green.
As part of the visit, all present took a Swachhata Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining cleanliness, proper waste segregation at the source, and environmental responsibility.
MC Commissioner reiterated that the Municipal Corporation is dedicated to improving civic amenities and ensuring a healthier, cleaner, and more livable environment for every resident of Chandigarh.
