*MC Chandigarh celebrated Teej with Safaimitras: Mayor Honors Women Workforce at Rani Laxmi Bai Bhawan*
In a heartfelt and vibrant celebration of Zero Waste Teej, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh organized a special event today at Rani Laxmi Bai Mahila Bhawan, Sector 38, dedicated to honoring its women workforce, especially the Safaimitras (women sanitation workers). The celebration was graced by city Mayor Smt. Harpreet Kaur Babla, who attended the event as the Chief Guest.
The Mayor joined the lady staff of MCC, particularly the Safaimitras, in celebrating the festival with great enthusiasm and cultural fervor. She applauded their dedication and tireless efforts in maintaining the city’s cleanliness, emphasizing their crucial role in building a healthier and more beautiful Chandigarh.
MC councillors and the Chairperson of the Art and Culture Committee, Smt. Anju Katyal also supported and encouraged the lively participation of the women staff of MCC.
The event featured colorful cultural performances including traditional Giddha, dance routines, and fun-filled games. The joyous atmosphere reflected the spirit of Teej and provided a platform for women employees to relax, express themselves, and be recognized for their service.
Prizes were awarded to winners of various competitions and games, further adding to the excitement and camaraderie of the event.
