Chandigarh, November 17:- Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor, Chandigarh today distributed PAN cards and certificates of registration to Area Level Federations under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAY-NULM) project, here today in the presence of Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh and other councilors of MCC.
While addressing the office bearers of Self Help Groups, who have registered Area Level Federations in different parts of city, the Mayor said that taking a proactive approach, MCC has facilitated generation of Permanent Account Number (PAN) Cards for 19 Area Level Federations of Chandigarh out of which 13 PAN Cards have already been generated. Creation of this vital link will integrate the ALFs with the financial and business matrix of the country.
He said that the prime objective of linking all the Area Level Federations (ALFs) withPAN Card under Income Tax Department is to make them eligible and formally capablefor applying under contracts and bids (running canteens, maintenance and management of community based projects etc.) for getting project, development work with all the Government and Non-Government agencies at par with otherCivil Societies, commercial agencies and Non-government organizations.
The Mayor further said that the MCC has been undertaking various measures for addressing the issue of urban poverty under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAY-NULM). Social Mobilization and Institutional Development (SM&ID) is one such component under DAY-NULM through which Self Help Groups and Area Level Federations are constituted for empowering women and creating conducive entrepreneurial environment.
He said that the ALFs are community based women organizations and federations of women based Self Help Groups (SHGs), which are engaged in Thrift & Credit among their local groups at local level and other entrepreneurial work eg.Packing, Boutique Work, Stationary, Handloom, Embroidery Work, management of community toilets etc.
The Mayor said that in future, the DAY NULM branch has planned to develop the capacities of such community based organizations i.e. ALFs by making them registered under various other sections of Income Tax Act, 1961 eg. Section 12 A and 80 G as well in addition to getting them registered under DARPAN Portal of Niti Aayog, so that such community based organizations got empowered to compete with other organizations in fetching works in various development domains.

Dharampal, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh laid the foundation stone for automation of casting unit at C&D waste Plant at industrial area Phase-I, here today in the presence of Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor, Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, Sh. Shakti Parkash Devshali, area councilor and other councilors of MCC.
While addressing the gathering the Adviser said that the Chandigarh Administration is working on three components i.e. Clean city, Green City and Smart city and under the clean city project construction and demolition waste will have to be managed scientifically and recycled according to the requirements.
The Adviser said that after visiting the plant in the month of July, it was felt that the capacity of the plant will have to be increased from 150 TPD (tones per day) and the construction and demolition waste from neighoubring cities will also be accepted for processing and making usable products after recycling.
He appreciated the team of MCC for working fast on the provision of automated casting unit at C&D waste plant and increasing the capacity of the waste processing. He said that the manufactured PCC products to be used for pavements, road work, fencing work etc.
Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor said that processing plant accepts all cement, construction demolition waste except steel up to the size 1-1.5 feet which is being processed by crushing and washing in four type of aggregates i.e. sand, 10mm Bajri, 20mm Bajri, and 40mm Bajri.
He said that such aggregates are being utilized further for making cement concrete products including PCC kerb, PCC channel, PCC tiles, Paver block, cement concrete works, bollards etc.; Public health works i.e. PCC road gully covers, PCC manhole covers etc.; Horticulture works i.e. PCC benches, CC tree and various road sub base works.
He said that The total cost of this project is Rs. 162 lacs which includes maintenance cost of plant for 5 years amounting to Rs. 27 lacs. After installation of this machine the production capacity will increase by 5 times i.e. from existing capacity of 2500-3000 units per day to 15000 units per day. Further the labour requirement for production of these products will also reduce considerably thereby reducing the operation cost.

Kidney diseases common in diabetic patients, early diagnose can control progression of the disease
About 30% of patients with Type 1 (juvenile onset) diabetes and 10-40% of those with Type 2 (adult onset) diabetes will eventually suffer from kidney failure: Dr Chhaminder Jeet Singh
“As high blood sugar level can cause multi problems in the body, while kidney diseases are most common in people with diabetes. About 30% of patients with Type 1 (juvenile onset) diabetes and 10-40% of those with Type 2 (adult onset) diabetes will eventually suffer from kidney failure”, said Dr Chhaminder Jeet Singh, Consultant Nephrologist and Renal Transplant Physician, Grecian Super Specialty Hospital, Mohali.
While interacting with senior citizens on ‘Diabetes and its effects on Kidneys’, Dr Chhaminder Jeet Singh further said albumin/protein in the urine, high blood pressure, ankle and leg swelling, leg cramps, going to the bathroom more often at night, high levels of urea and creatinine in blood, less need for insulin or anti-diabetic medications, morning sickness, nausea and vomiting, weakness, paleness and anaemia and itching, are few sings which indicates that the diabetic patients are suffering from kidney diseases.
Early diagnosis of kidney diseases and diabetes can have lifetime benefits by controlling the progression of the disease, increasing life expectancy, decreasing the humanistic and economic burden, he further added.
Meanwhile, Dr Pooja Chauhan, Consultant General Medicine, Grecian Super Specialty Hospital, Mohali, said, “The earliest sign of diabetic kidney disease is an increased excretion of albumin in the urine. This is present long before the usual tests done in your doctor’s office show evidence of kidney disease, so it is important for you to have this test on a yearly basis.”
Diabetes in India is a growing health concern, with over half the population at risk of developing the condition at some point in their lives. In India, more than 77 million adults are living with diabetes. Researchers predict that this will increase to 134 million by 2045.

पंचकूला, 17 नवंबर- हरियाणा के मुख्यमंत्री के अतिरिक्त प्रधान सचिव एवं हरियाणा रोलर स्केटिंग एसोसिएशन के अध्यक्ष डाॅ. अमित कुमार अग्रवाल ने आज पंचकूला में आयोजित 35वीं हरियाणा स्टेट रोलर स्केटिंग चेंपियनशिप के विजेताओं को पदक देकर सम्मानित किया। चेंपियनशिप का आयोजन सेक्टर-22 स्थित आई.टी पार्क में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मापदंड के अनुसार नवनिर्मित स्केटिंग सुविधा में किया गया। इस अवसर पर उनके साथ उपायुक्त श्री विनय प्रताप सिंह भी उपस्थित थे।
हरियाणा रोलर स्केटिंग एसोसिएशन के महासचिव श्री जितेंद्र ढींगरा ने बताया कि इस चेंपियनशिप में लगभग 800 खिलाड़ी भाग ले रहे हैं, जिनमें 460 लड़कंे और 340 लड़कियां शामिल हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि दिसंबर माह में उत्तर भारत में आयोजित होने वाली 59वीं राष्ट्रीय स्केटिंग चेंपियनशिप के लिए हरियाणा स्केटर्स टीम का चयन भी इस चेंपियनशिप के दौरान किया जाएगा।
पदक विजेताओं के बारे में जानकारी देते हुए उन्होंने बताया कि स्पीड इवेंट्स में मेडल टैली में गुड़गांव की टीम प्रथम स्थान पर रही, जबकि मेजबान पंचकूला टीम दूसरे स्थान पर रही है। रोलर और इनलाइन हॉकी प्रतियोगिता में टक्कर की स्पर्धा चल रही है क्योंकि अंक प्रणाली के अनुसार विभिन्न समूहों और श्रेणियों में यमुनानगर, सिरसा और पंचकूला की तीनों टीमें बराबरी पर चल रही हैं।
उन्होंने बताया कि इस स्तर पर यह प्रतियोगिता पंचकूला में लगभग 12 वर्षों के अंतराल के बाद आयोजित की गई है और इस आयोजन के सुचारू और पारदर्शी संचालन के लिए विभिन्न नवीन तरीकों का उपयोग किया गया है।
समारोह में श्री जतिंदर सिहाग (सीटीपी हरियाणा), श्री टी के रूबी, श्रीमती रजनी थरेजा, श्री चंदर सिंघल, एचआरएसए के संयुक्त सचिव श्री संदीप गोयल, और खिलाड़ियों के माता-पिता व विभिन्न टीमों के कोच उपस्थित रहे।

पंचकूला, 17 नवंबर- जिला रेडक्राॅस सोसायटी एवं श्री शिव कावंड महासंघ चेरिटेबल रजिस्टर्ड ट्रस्ट पंचकूला के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में उपायुक्त सचिवालय के प्रांगण में रक्तदान शिविर का आयोजन किया गया। रक्तदान शिविर में मुख्यातिथि के रूप में पुलिस उपायुक्त मोहित हांडा ने रक्तदाताओं को बैज लगाकर व प्रमाण पत्र देकर उनकी हौंसला अफजाई की। इस अवसर पर उनके साथ एसीपी विजय नेहरा भी उपस्थित थे।
उन्होंने कहा कि रक्तदान महादान हैं। रक्तदान करने से किसी जरूरतमंद व्यक्ति को रक्त देकर उसकी जान बचाई जा सकती है। आमतौर पर लोगों की मानसिकता है कि रक्तदान करने से शरीर में कमजोरी आती हैं। ये भ्रामक बाते है। रक्तदान करने से कोई कमजोरी नहीं आती और सप्ताहभर में दिये गये खून की आपूर्ति हो जाती है और नया खून शरीर में संचार हो जाता है। इस शिविर में पुलिस के 20 कर्मचारियों ने भी रक्तदान किया। उन्होंने युवाओं से अपील की कि वो रक्तदान का संकल्प लेें और अपने जीवन में जरूर रक्तदान करें। इस अवसर पर एसीपी विजय नेहरा ने भी रक्तदाताओं को बैज लगाकर सम्मानित किया।
रक्तदान शिविर में एसडीएम पंचकूला श्रीमती ऋचा राठी ने भी रक्तदाताओं को बैज लगाकर सम्मानित किया। उन्होंने कहा कि आजकल के युग में नवयुवकों को रक्तदान के लिये जागरूक करने की जरूरत है। हमारे जिले के युवा रक्तदान शिविर में बढ़चढकर भाग लेंगे, जिससे की जरूरतमंद व दुर्घटना में गंभीर रूप से घायल व्यक्ति की उस रक्त से जीवन बचाया जा सकता है। जिला रेडक्राॅस सोसायटी एवं श्री शिव कावड संघ ने सेकड़ो ंकी संख्या में रक्तदान शिविर आयोजित किये हैं और हजारो यूनिट रक्त एकत्रित कर जरूरतमंदो तक पंहुचाने का पुण्य कार्य किया है।
उन्होंने बताया कि आज के रक्तदान शिविर में जीएमसीएच-32 चंडीगढ के डाॅ राजबीर कौर के नेतृत्व में 9 लोगों की टीम द्वारा लगभग 60 यूनिट रक्त एकत्रित किया गया। इस रक्तदान शिविर में 75 रक्तदाता रक्तदान के लिये आये थे, जिसमें से 60 लोगों द्वारा सफलतापूर्वक रक्तदान किया गया।
इस अवसर पर श्री शिव कावंड महासंघ चेरिटेबल रजिस्टर्ड ट्रस्ट के प्रधान राकेश संघर, श्री लक्ष्मण रावत, गुलशन कुमार, पवन बंसल, प्रवीण सिंघला, गुरू प्रताप सिंह लाली सहित अन्य सदस्यों ने रक्तदान शिविर में बढ़चढ़कर योगदान दिया।

Chandigarh, November 17:- A meeting of Road Committee, MCC was held under the chairmanship of Sh. Dalip Sharma and attended by the other members of committee namely Sh. Anil Kumar Dubey, Sh. Haji Mohd. Khurshid Ali and concerned officer of MCC.
During the meeting, the committee accorded approval to following agenda items:-
· Rough cost estimated for Construction of New ceiling wall and repair of existing wall in Sector 33, Chandigarh at an estimated cost of Rs. 4.50 lac.
· Rough cost estimated for dismantling and providing & laying cement concrete flooring in back service lane sector 23 & 24, Chandigarh at an estimated cost of Rs. 12.40 lac.
· Rough cost estimated for providing path in Animal Birth Control Centre Village Raipur Kalan, Chandigarh at an estimated cost of Rs. 19.93 lac.
· Rough cost estimated for the special repair of community centre Modern Housing Complex, Manimajra, Chandigarh at an estimated cost of Rs. 3.48 lac.
· Rough cost estimated for existing paver blocks and P/F new paver blocks in front of Anganwadi & Govt. School at Village Dhanas, Chandigarh at an estimated cost of Rs. 13.90 lac.
With the objective of making Panjab University campus and its affiliated colleges, clean and green, a delegation from Hariyawal Chandigarh, NGO visited Prof Raj Kumar Vice Chancellor, PU in his office.
Those visited included Padma Shri, singer Ms Anuradha Poudwal,Sh Kapil Setia,Chief Architect ,Sh Praveen Choubey, NSS Programm Officer,Sec 46,PG Govt College and Sh Rajiv Gupta, Dy Convenor,Hariyawal. Prof Gaurav Gaur, Chairman, Centre for Social Work and NSS Program Officer, PU also present.
Discussions were also held for making the campus and colleges plastic free and exploring ways of increasing ground water levels. For the success of the above issues, it was decided to involve students.
