Indo-Japan SPARC workshop held at Panjab University

Department of Chemistry, Panjab University organized an Indo-Japan SPARC scientific workshop on the theme of Peptide and Nanotechnological Approaches for Novel Theranostics, here today.


The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University and Prof. Raghuram Rao, Director, NIPER was the Guest of honour on the occasion. The participants were exposed to advancements/demonstrations regarding peptide and nanotechnology based approaches for generation of novel theranostics. The speakers
were several renowned Scientists from Japan and India.


The SPARC project would be accomplished under the supervision of Dr. Rohit Kumar Sharma, the Indian PI from Panjab University, Prof. Rahul Jain, Indian Co-PI from NIPER, Mohali along with Prof. Hironobu Hojo, International PI from Osaka University, Japan and Prof. Toshifumi Takao, International Co-PI from Osaka University, Japan. The project includes the visits and long-term stay of top international faculty / researchers in Indian institutions to pursue teaching and research. It also includes visits by Indian students for training and experimentation in premier laboratories. This workshop will be followed by the SPARC International Course on Peptide and Protein Chemistry to be taken by Japanese collaborator in Department of Chemistry from November 4 to 7, 2019.


This workshop is a part of Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC), an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. This SPARC project is a collaborative effort between Panjab University and NIPER, Mohali from India and Osaka University, Japan.

Lecture on Vigilance by CEDS

The Department of Community Education and Disability Studies(CEDS), Panjab University, Chandigarh organized lecture on the theme “Integrity- A way of Life” as a part of ongoing activities during the Vigilance Awareness Week.


        Prof. S.K. Tomar, Director, Human Resource Development Centre, Panjab University urged the students to actively participate with the nation-wide initiative of the Central Vigilance Commission to create awareness amongst the common man, especially the youth towards the policy of achieving transparency, accountability and corruption free Governance.


       

Dr. Dazy Zarabi Chairperson of the Department along with the faculty and students took the Integrity Pledge and asked the students to practice Integrity of being honest and showing a consistent and uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles and values.


        Dr. Ashwani Sharma, Faculty of the Department stressed that the students should follow punctuality and regularity in their lives. He further said that the students of Special Education in Learning Disability are future Educators, counselors
and teachers so they should practice a consistent and uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles and values. Quiz competition, poster making and Slogan writing was also a part of Vigilance awareness week.

पंचकुला 31 अक्टूबर –  

जिला पुलिस द्वारा 31 अक्टूबर को सरदार वल्लभभाई पटेल की जयंती राष्ट्रीय एकता दिवस के रुप में मनाई गई। इस दौरान पंचकूला के पुलिस उपायुक्त कमलदीप गोयल की अध्यक्षता मे पुलिस थाना सैक्टर-14 में एक स्पेशल शपथ ग्रहण समारोह का आयोजन किया गया। कार्यक्रम में भारत के लौह पुरुष सरदार वल्लभभाई पटेल के कार्यों और देश की आंतरिक सुरक्षा को सुनिश्चित करने के प्रति उनके समर्पण को भी याद किया गया। कार्यक्रम में पुलिस आयुक्तालय में तैनात अधिकारियों और पुलिस कर्मियों ने राष्ट्र की एकता और अखंडता को बनाए रखने के लिए शपथ ग्रहण की। सहायक पुलिस आयुक्त श्री विजय देशवाल, सहायक पुलिस आयुक्त श्रीमती नुपूर बिश्नोई, सहायक पुलिस आयुक्त श्री सतीश कुमार तथा अन्य पुलिस अधिकारी व कर्मचारी मौजूद रहे ।

राष्ट्र की एकता, अखंडता और सुरक्षा की भावनाओं को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए जिले में शपथ ग्रहण समारोह के साथ-साथ एकता का संदेश देती हुई रन फाॅर युनिटी का भी आयोजन किया गया ।

Vigilance Awareness observed at Ancient History, PU

The Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology, Panjab University, Chandigarh  during the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week-2019 organized two special lectures.  The first lecture was delivered on  “Principles of
Good Governance and Lokpal Act”  by Professor Devinder Singh, Dept. of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh.  In  his illustrated talk he threw light on the principles of good governance and Lokpal Act repeatedly he stressed that it is the  responsibility of the  public servants to perform their duty honestly and diligently to get maximum benefit from these Acts. 

 
        The second lecture was delivered by Dr. Babita Devi Pathania, Associate Professor, Dept. of Laws on “Sexual Harassment at workplace”.  She interacted with the students and made them aware of different kinds of harassment to which one can be subjected to  at the workplace. She stressed that any such instance of harassment be immediately reported to different bodies  which have  been constituted for looking into such issues.  The reporting of
such issues would definitely help bringing the culprit to the book and relief to the aggrieved.
     

  Both the lectures  were attended by students and faculty of the department and also allied departments.

जिला बाल कल्याण परिषद् पंचकूला द्वारा बाल दिवस के उपलक्ष उपायुक्त के आदेशानुसार जिला स्तरीय प्रतियोगिताओं का शुभआरम्भ श्री भगत सिंह, जिला बाल कल्याण अधिकारी, पंचकूला द्वारा सतलूज पब्लिक स्कुल सैक्टर 4, पचंकूला में किया गया। जिसमें रंगोली, फेस पेंटिगं, कार्ड मेंकिगं, थाली पूजन, क्लस सजावट, दिया व मोमबती मेकिंग, प्रशनोतरी प्रतियोगिता द्वितीय, तृतीय व चतुर्थ ग्रुप में करवाई गई।

इस संबंध में जानकारी देते हुए जिला बाल विकास अधिकारी भगत सिंह ने बताया कि इन सभी प्रतियोगिताओं में कुल 28 स्कुलों के 220 बच्चों ने भाग लिया। जिला बाल कल्याण परिषद् पंचकूला द्वारा सभी प्रतियोगिताओं में भाग लेने वाले बच्चों को रिफै्रसमैन्ट बाटी गई। उन्होंने बताया की इस तरह की प्रतियोगिता से बच्चों के स्वार्गीण विकास व बच्चांे की प्रतिभाओं निखारना ही बाल कल्याण परिषद् का प्रयास रहता है और इस प्रतियोगिता मंे जिला स्तर पर प्रथम, द्वितीय व तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त करने वाले बच्चों बाल दिवस के अवसर पर सम्मानित किया जाएगा तथा अन्य प्रतियोगिताए दिनाकं 04, 05, 06 नवम्बर 2019 को करवाए जाएगें और डिविजन लेवल प्रतियोगिता दिनाकं 09, 10 नवम्बर 2019 को अम्बाला में करवाई जाएगी व डिविजन लेवल प्रतियोगिता में प्रथम व द्वितीय स्थान प्राप्त करने वाले बच्चों राज्य स्तरीय प्रतियोगिताओं मे भाग लेने का मौका मिलेगा। इस मौके पर राजबीर सिंह, विजय कुमार, मोहन लाल, अनिता ने निर्णायक की भूमिका निभाई व जिला बाल कल्याण परिषद् के सभी कर्मचारी भी मौजूद थे।

सिरसा, 31 अक्तूबर।


                 जिला बाल कल्याण परिषद् में सोलो डांस, कार्ड मेकिंग तथा डेक्लेमेशन की प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया। गुरूवार को आयोजित प्रतियोगिताओं में जिला के विभिन्न स्कूलों के 125 बच्चों ने भाग लिया। बाल दिवस के उपलक्ष्य में विभिन्न प्रतियोगिताओं का आयोजन किया जा रहा है। इनमें प्रथम व द्वितीय आने वाले बच्चों को जींद में आयोजित जोनल स्तर की प्रतियोगिता में भाग लेने का अवसर प्रदान किया जाएगा।


                  जिला बाल कल्याण अधिकारी पूनम नागपाल ने बताया कि इसी कड़ी में बृहस्पितवार को सोलो डांस, कार्ड मेकिंग व डेक्लेशन प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया। कार्ड मेकिंग प्रतियोगिता का परिणाम घोषित करने के लिए कला अध्यापक अशोक कुमार, वर्षा व छोटा सिंह ने निर्णायक मंडल की भूमिका निभाई। साथ ही सोलो डान्स व फन गेम प्रतियोगिता का परिणाम घोषित करने के लिए लैक्चरर यूजिक ऋषि कुमार व जगप्रीत सिंह तथा डैक्लेमेशन प्रतियोगिता का परिणाम घोषित करने के लिए विज्ञान अध्यापक कान्ता पुरी, लैक्चरर हरीश सेठी व सरोज बाला ने निर्णायक मण्डल की भूमिका निभाई।


                  उन्होने बताया कि 2 नवंबर को दीया/कैण्डल डैकोरेशन, देश भक्ति समूह गान तथा थाली पूजन/क्लश डैकोरेशन की प्रतियोगिताएं आयोजित की जाएगी। उन्होंने बताया कि कार्ड मेकिंग प्रतियोगिता में शाह सतनाम जी व्यायज स्कूल के हिमांशु ने प्रथम स्थान, गुरूनानक पब्लिक स्कूल की अमनदीप कौर ने द्वितीय स्थान, प्रूडैन्स स्कूल बाजेकां से अमानत ने तृतीय तथा डीएवी सीनियर सैकेंडरी पब्लिक स्कूल से दृष्टि गुप्ता ने सांत्वना पुरस्कार प्राप्त किया। डैक्लेमेशन प्रतियोगिता में अरोही मॉडल सीनियर सैकेंडरी स्कूल झिड़ी से जसमीत कौर ने प्रथम, डीएवी सीनियर सैकेंडरी पब्लिक स्कूल सिरसा की महक ने द्वितीय, सागरमल जैन गल्र्ज सीनियर सैकेंडरी स्कूल से दीपांशी ने तृतीय स्थान तथा सैंट जेवियर स्कूल कुलमहक व विकास हाई स्कूल सिरसा की दिव्या ने सांत्वना पुरस्कार प्राप्त किया। डेक्लेेमेशन प्रतियोगिता के चुतुर्थ समूह में डीएवी सीनियर सैकेंडरी स्कूल डबवाली की लवलीन ने प्रथम स्थान, महाराजा अग्रसैन सीनियर सैकेंडरी स्कूल सिरसा से कशिश सैनी ने द्वितीय, दी सिरसा स्कूल से गजल जाखड़ को तृतीय तथा वर्खा ने सांत्वना पुरस्कार प्राप्त किया। इस अवसर पर विभिन्न स्कूलों से आए अध्यापक, अभिभावक व बच्चे उपस्थित थे।
